This beer pours with about a half inch of white fluffy head, which dissipates leaving some spotty lacing on the side of the glass. It is a clear brilliant golden beer. Very nice looking. There is something weird happening in the nose. Something making me think I maybe got a bad bottle. there is a little bit of an odd maybe rubberband aroma masking some grainyness and a bit of herby hops. Kind of offputting, and making me not look forward to taking that first sip. After that aroma smacked me in the face, the flavor is surprisingly not that bad. Has a lot of herbey hops and nice grainy malt character. There is a very mild mirroring of that problem from the aroma, but it is not very present. The mouthfeel isn't overly light, which makes me suspect that this is not an infection, but it is a little bit astringent. Light medium body with ok carbonation. I really don't know what to make of this beer. It didn't make me want to get another, but I would like to see if this was a bad bottle or if this is really what this beer is like.

A: Pours out a lovely wheat yellow crowned with a full one finer white head or snowy white. Lots and lots and lots of carbonation.

S: There’s some dry hay, fresh cut grass and then a nice aroma of hops pours in. Apple skins, grape, and a touch of lemon, too.

T: Lightly hoppy up front with some light pine notes that segue into apples, a touch of pear and lemon, and then ending a dry grassy note.

M: Medium to light bodied with ample carbonation. Nice and refreshing.

O: This may actually be the best lawnmower beer. Light, refreshing, and with a good hop dosage to give it some zest.

A: Soft white head atop a pale yellow body. I was hoping for a little more color.

S: Not too aromatic. Citrusy sweet hops are evident but not strong. Some faints grains.

T: This one really comes alive in the flavor department. There's a wonderful lemon/orange citrus component that I'm guessing is from the hops but is so flavorful it makes me wonder if it's something they added. Slightly bitter which leads to a dry, zesty finish. Dusty grains round out a very nuanced flavor profile.

A great beer for those dog days.

12oz bottle into a Duvel tulip.

A: A fairly vigorous pour into the upright tulip results in an inch of marshmallow-like white foam atop a clear gold body; pretty good retention, but not as much lace as I'd like. Good looking Blonde.

S: Smells like a nice Pils without the lager yeast: clean, biscuity malt and moderate Noble hoppiness - very herbal, lightly earthy. Simple and good.

T: Much like the nose, I'm getting a pleasant balance of clean pilsner malt and fairly intense European hops. Quite noticeable bitterness on the finish - not quite enough to be astringent, but it's right on the borderline. Long, bitter, slightly fruity aftertaste. I'm a fan.

M: Fairly light-bodied and exploding with creamy carbonation. Lively and refreshing, if a bit over the top with the effervescence.

O: I like it, but it seems overdone for the style: the combination of extra-light malt and fairly aggressive hops makes it refreshing, but potentially too intense for someone trying to use Blondes as a stepping stone to more flavorful styles. If you want interesting flavor, this is the place to be in this style; if you want something that's just hugely drinkable without being boring, I'd recommend Narragansett Summer.

Cheers!

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass

A - Poured a light crisp looking golden bubbly body with a frothy white head.

S - Very herbacious on the nose with notes of pepper and spice and a slight citrus fruit on the back end. Very airy and pleasant.

T & M & D - The taste is much like the nose. THe beer starts like and airy with a strong herbal body and some pepper and spice. Then it finished light and crisp with a light body and good levels of clean carbination. Very drinkable!

O - A light summer beer with interesting flavors and great character. I would enjoy these on the beach any time.

-Cheers

Poured a nice blond color, with about three fingers worth of hear.

Nose: Got some floral hops along with some grainy earthiness, pretty nice smelling brew.

Taste: It's a pretty zesty one. I got some spice there, a tad bit of tart ( not much). Nice balance between the malts and hops.

Mouth: Nice for a summer beer. Easy drinking.

Overall: This is is a sure shot for a nice refreshing summer brew. It's balanced, light enough, and tasty. I'd get this one again.

Summer Love

Served in New Belgium globe glass

A: Pours clear straw/gold with a small white head that has little retention. Vibrant effervescence.

S: Bready malts, a whiff of sulfur, lemony zest. Light spiciness, too.

T: Relatively sweet on the front end with a toasty malt kick. Off note of paper joins hay and grass at mid palate. Sulfur shows up, too. Light bitterness tidies up mess and dares you to take another drink.

M: Light body and medium carbonation.

O: The more I drink the less I love Summer Love. I understand that the style calls for a malt-forward approach, but the paper and hay indicate something is amiss.

Summer Love pours a slightly hazy, straw yellow color with a small white head on top. Very little lacing and steady streams of bubbles rise to the surface.

The aroma is light biscuit with notes of lemon.

Each sip of this light to medium bodied beer is smooth, slightly syrupy with mild carbonation. The flavor is well balanced between grainy pale malt, biscuit and lemon citrus. It finishes mildly bitter with light floral notes.

This is a well balanced, easy drinking beer. It doesn't fill you up and is refreshing on a hot summer day.

12oz bottle served in a standard pint glass.

L - clear yellow color with a white head that thins to a light layer leaving just a few spots of lacing.

S - grass and citrus blend, you can tell this beer is fresh and hoppy.

T - the balance is perfect as the sweetness of malt is met with the bitterness of hops finishing a bit dry and tart.

F - medium bodied with good carbonation and a crisp, refreshing feel.

O - a very good summer beer.

Pours yellow with a nice fluffy white head.

The smell is of sweet malt and fresh grain. The freshness of the ingredients stand out in the nose.

The sweet malt up front leads to citrus and peaches with the citrus flowing to the finish and pine ending the show.

The feel is light without being boring. Good body with good carbonation.

Overall, another good brew from Victory. Refreshing with good flavor.

12oz bottle into my Southern Tier pint glass. It poured a light golden color with a modest bubbly head to it. Good head retention and great lacing as I drank it.

The aroma has a very nice hoppiness to it right off the bat. I get a floral, juicy, slightly citrusy flavor. A little bit of a light, grainy, malty flavor to it as well. The hoppiness was nice for the style.

The taste also has a very bright and floral hoppiness to it throughout the flavor. I get more of a juicy, tropical fruit flavor to the hops up front, while a little bit of a bitter, grapefruit like flavor comes out in the finish.

The mouthfeel is light with carbonation being moderate. Overall it was a very enjoyable beer and one of the best I've had of the style. The hoppiness was very nice in it, especially for the lower abv. I was definitely impressed with this beer relative to it's style and abv.

Poured from 12oz bottle into shaker pint.
Could not find a bottled-on date.

Aroma: Smells silimar to a pilsner. Green grassy, herbal hops, combined w/ sweet, light golden graham cereal grains.

Appearance: Clear, golden body, sparkling w/ effervesence. Bright white 2 finger collar of foam settles to one. Excellent lacing.

Flavor: Bright citrus and grassy hop notes. Bitterness is somewhat subdued compared to a pilsner. Very light cereal grain. Clean, dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Crisp carbonation combines with a light body, even for the style.

Overall: Very highly-drinkable. Enough hop flavor to keep the beer from being boring, and the body of the beer almost teeters on the brink of being watery. If Victory was shooting for a summer gateway and/or high-end lawnmower beer, they hit the target straight-on.

Pours medium gold with a decent white head. Some spotty lace.

I disagree with how this is categorized -- I think this is Kolsch. I'm getting the grapevine in the nose, faint as it is. Nice light malt, some green leaf, some mineral.

Light malt, with some grain and husk bitterness. Good balance for this one. Not too bitter, and nothing overbearing with sweetness or fruit. No boiled malt either. The grain, a touch of hops with some green bitterness and a pleasant malt/light bitter finish. My new summer beer.

Lighter bodied, but still something there. Good carbonation.

Wonderful summer brew, one of the better attempts out there. I'm a bit reluctant to give this a higher overall grade as I just bought a single. I'd want to see how this rolls after 2-3. Very worthy.

A: Golden road in the glass with a brilliant sharp clarity. The head is sligtht, a light beige coloring, that quickly turns to a washy covering. Inside lied a light and soft carbonation factor that rose at its leisure. The lacing was minimal, low coverage, and low appeal.

S: Upfront was fresh citrus, grapefruit of good strength. Some fresh wheat stalks and staw chimes in on the close.

T: Sweet and grainy pilsner malt with a nice dryness of straw and grapefruit. The hopping is bright and assertive on the close bringing a flowery and dry offering along with a hint of dry grassiness.

M: light bodied with a slick texture. Light carbonation presence, spicy hops on the hold, dry on the swallow.

O: Overall very drinkable, spicy and dry citrus hops work well with the grainy pilsner malt making this a great summer time crisp drinker and one I could drink all day with no complaint. Crisp lager like drinkability with a pale ale amount of hops.

12 oz bottle, no date.

appears a bright golden straw color. clear, with white 1/2" head that fades. aroma of light hops and lemon zest. taste has got more of a hop bite than most summer seasonals, yet it is still easy drinking. the citrus is there in the finish. thin to medium body, higher carbonation.

overall, one of the better summer beers I've had.

Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with a finger of white head that fades quickly that leaves some lacing on the glass.

Smell: Not a lot going on here. A crisp mildly sweet malt smell.

Taste: Nice and crisp. Bready malt up front with a nice mild bitterness in the finish. A nice summer drinking beer.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with tingly carbonation and a mildly dry finish.

Picked up a six-pack of this at Joe Canal's in Woodbridge over the weekend since I heard good things about this and this was one of the few summer beers available that I had yet to drink. This was really enjoyable for a Blonde and it was refreshing not only to have one of these during this hot weather, but to find something during the season that didn't feel watered down!

Nice gold hue to this with a head that lasted for quite a while to go along with it. The lacing and aroma weren't present but that's about all that this beer lacked. The mouthfeel and taste were one of the more amazing ones that I've had in any beer lately, as the straw that was felt up front slowly gave way to a slight wheat presence, followed by some banana and clove, and a finish of bright, grassy hops. Quite a few reviewers have said that this "tastes like summer" and amazingly, that's a good way to put it. The balance and carbonation are there but the latter isn't strong enough to detract from the flavor.

Even if this was a bit stronger in the alcohol department, I could have easily had another one in my sitting. This beer reminded me of sunny days and a fresh-cut lawn without the humidity and dehydration that ruins so many outdoor ventures in the Summer. If you're a fan lighter beers that don't taste light or a seasonal worthy of you're hard-earned money, you owe it to yourself to go out and get this. It is that good!

Appearance: Nearly clear yellow/gold with a bright-white head that leaves almost no lacing. Faint touches of carbonation pull through the beer, but it's not bursting with carbonation.

Smell: Apple, cereal grains, and something akin to wheat jump to the forefront. The hops are mild at best, and add a slight citrus touch to the back. It's pretty mellow overall. A little sweetness sneaks through, but it's a nice compliment to the cereal grains.

Taste: Incredibly delicate on the tongue. The finish is a nice crisp bread with some floral and citrus notes layered throughout. The other malts in the back provide a slight sweetness that prevent the beer from becoming one-dimensional bread flavor. As in the nose, a faint touch of apple sneaks through.

Mouthfeel: A little thin overall. The carbonation came through at a nice level, but the beer sat thin. A little dry on the front, but that's it.

Overall: A very solid summer beer when you're looking to break from the wheat/fruit thing. It's clean, crisp, and refreshing. Definitely another solid beer in the Victory lineup.

Bottles courtesy of drabmuh. Served in a Mikasa pilsner glass.

Pours a clear golden color with a two-finger white head and some spotty lacing on the way down. Thin white cap throughout. The nose brings a bit of light citrus hops and a slight floral character. Light grain is there as well. Flavor is slightly bready and grainy with some slight hop flavor. Body is light and crisp with good carbonation and a light bitterness to the finish. Well done.

I picked this up as part of a mix-a-six at Al's of Hampden -enjoyed with octopus87 chilled from a 1/2 pint.

The color is pale golden straw color with great clarity and thick snowy cap w/ ultra fine bead. The retention is good and laces sticks well. The aroma of this blonde is full of malt aroma yet has a slight musty yeast and pleasant herbal hop aroma which is mildly sweet. The aroma is well blended with subtle pilsner malt in the nose. The feel is semi-bitter with a mild resinous tinge and this has medium carbonation with a skosh of malt sweetness that balances the light spice with w/ gentle toasted grain and mild yeast smoothness.

The taste has a lemony hop flavor which seems to originate from noble hops as the flavor is familiar and herbal with some tinges of musty yeast and pils malt fills out the body with some light sweetness augmenting the taste with a gentle sweetness and a nice tea like hop dominates with herbal and slight grassy note. the lightly toasted tinges carry on with nice dry taste in the finish. This blonde really demonstrates that a low abv beer can have a good amount of flavor, the hop presence adds the counter balance to the malt with a refreshing quality and light acidity which makes this quaffable and has a refreshing quality perfect for summer because it doesn't makes you sweat from high alcohol and this fits the style well, another high quality brew from Victory!

DRank this from an English pub glass...

The beer is a pale yellow with a thin white head. I really don't know how to describe this smell, it is very funky and fruity, I could smell peach and mango with a light citrus accent. The taste has a very different bitterness, it is lemony and funky with flavors of mango and a bready finish. The beer is light with good moderate carbonation and a very dry finish. This is a perfect summer beer for me, lots of interesting hop flavor and very refreshing.

Bottle poured into pint glass on a hot, hot summer afternoon. Cool label, with summer things on it. Baseball, fishin', girl in bikini, etc.

A- Pale, straw yellow. Nice carbonation leading to white head that sits at half a finger or so.

S- Nice cracker-like malt. A tinge of hop bitterness. If someone told me this was a pils, from the smell and appearance of it, I wouldn't argue.

T- It has a pils like cracker quality in taste, but it isn't as pronounced as in a pils, or as in the nose. There's a light fruitiness on the finish that is very hard to nail down.

M- Nice and light. Easy drinking. Just how it should be.

O- I try to review beers by style, and this is a very nice, light, flavorful summer beer. As the bottle implies, this would be perfect for a summer pic nic, day at the beach or ball park, etc.

The beer poured a nice light yellow color that produced a very nice 2-finger, foamy head that was decently retained. The aroma of the beer was a little weaker than expected, but still good...some citrus hops mixed together with a bready component. The taste of the beer is of the quality that one would expect from this brewery, a nice strong flavor that follows the nose well. A nice does of fruitiness and bready malts. The beer was crisp, clean and very enjoyable as I sat on my back porch in the 100 degree heat of Georgia in the summer. The beer did finish with a light bitterness and I did feel that the beer was perhaps a bit over-carbonated, but it did not really detract from the enjoyment of the beer. Overall, as stated before, another quality beer from one of my favorite breweries.
