Could this be the greatest summer beer? Quite possibly in my opinion. It seems as though it is dry hopped, I could be wrong but it has a nice cloudy look which is usually apparent in dry hopped beers. It is crisp, refreshing, a bit lemony. The thing with summer beers is a lot of time you lose the hops and just get the wheat. This is not a wheat beer but a summer ale. And it has a nice mellow hoppiness which is surprising. It must be the noble hops, I'm not sure but I could just stick my head mouth under the tap, open up and say ahhh! Especially on a hot humid summer night. If you ever see it, try it, you won't be disappointed!

Summer Love really puts the blonde in blonde ale. This beer is a straw yellow color that looks more like a light lager than even a blonde ale. The head is not quite white and very frothy. The staying power and lacing are both superb.

The aroma is a pleasant mix of cereal malt and floral hops. The hops are very flowery with a slight herbalness and there is a bit of grainy character in the aroma as well.

The flavor mimics the aroma quite well with the same mix of cereal and slightly grainy malt character married with a pleasantly floral hop mélange. This brew also has a slight lemony twinge that fits well. This beer does not have a lot going on flavor wise, but that brings us to…

The body is light with a spot on amount of carbonation that makes this a bright and refreshing drink. It finishes quite dry with a nice hop character lingering after I swallow.

This beer is obscene in its drinkability. I can see what victory was gunning for with this brew and I think they really hit the nail on the head. More flavorful than many blonde ales I have had and quite refreshing. Still, even on a hot summer day I think I could go for something with a bit more kick. I don’t see myself picking this up over Prima Pils or another quality pilsner or APA.

Pours a clear light yellow with a 1 inch white head that fades to a film on the top of the beer. Random spots and streaks of lace form on the glass on the drink down. Smell is of sweet malt, some grassy notes, and a citrus zest aroma. Taste is of sweet malt, grasses, and a bitter citrus zest. Mild hop bitterness on the palate after each sip. A good level of carbonation with a crisp and clean mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good blonde ale with a nice hop presence. A good Summer beer from Victory.

Bottle poured into a tulip glass

Mostly clear light gold color. Small white head that does not last.

Slight lemon zest aroma with a little of a earthy tone.

Taste is slightly lemon with a slight hops background. A smooth beer with little aftertaste.

A decent summer brew. Not something I would seek out again but did enjoy what I had.

This is a great summer ale. Strong citrus (grapefruit/lemon zest) and grassy flavor work for this refreshing blonde ale. I had a few of these on a very hot 90 degree day mowing my lawn, and it was one of the most refreshing beers I have ever had on a hot day. The mouthfeel was smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink. Carbonation was lively, but just right for this style. Overall, just a great summer ale. Highly recommended, and you will love the dog days of summer with Summer Love from Victory.

I've never had a beer that goes better with a good burger. Despite the silly name this is a remarkably well wrought beer. The pour is a bright yellow with a little cloudiness revealing the unfiltered yeast. The head is white and becomes lacy in a few minutes. The aroma is a pretty subtle combination of lemony and herbal notes. But the taste is where this beer excels. The fine hops that are so prominent in Victory's Hop Devil are beautifully rounded off with malt and bread and a little lemon combination that is really satisfying and refreshing. The only problem with this blonde ale is that you have a hard time not having another as soon as your glass is empty.

Bottle: Poured a clear bright golden color ale with a nice pure white foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of light sweet cereal with light floral undertones. Taste is also dominated by light floral notes with some refreshing cereal with a subtle hoppy finish. There were some light unrefined grain notes that were also perceptible as the beer warmed up which I wasn’t too fond of. Body is about average with good carbonation. Good but not as great as I was expecting based on previous ratings.

A - Light straw body has a bit of haze with a small but persistent head that leaves a bit of lacing on the way down.

S - Clean mild nose is vaguely herbal and floral and gets a bit malty and bready as it warms up.

T - Herbal with some lemon up front, turns to a clean and slightly bitter body. Ends a bit grainy and subtly fruity. A challenging beer, tasty but subtle.

M/D - Medium body may be a little low on carbonation. Nice beer, but I wish it ended a bit drier/crisper.

Got this on tap served on a pint glass. Appearance was pale yellow and somewhat translucent; you could tell a bit of haziness through the body of the beer. Very small head that surprisingly remained for a while, excellent decorative lacing.

It was hard to judge the smell on this beer because it was very faint but from what I could gather you could tell some garden and minty aromas. Taste was also very herbal and minty, a bit medicinal as well with some metallic taste mixed into it. Decent carbonation. Overall, a decent beer to freshen up a little during hot days but lacking some tones and variety in the taste.

12oz Bottle, won in beer tasting at ABC. Fresh, malty aroma. Flavors are crisp, clean and bright, with a breezy freshness. Surprised at how flavorful this beer is. Where most Golden Ales are listless, flawed, too chewy or with distracting side notes, this one is very drinkable. Nice hoppy flavor mid-taste. Light-to-medium body. Average carbonation. Clean finish. I really look forward to each sip. Solid work. I had not been a big fan of victory til now, but I think more of them after this offering.

Light golden in color with a medium level of haze and cloudiness to it that obscured a bit of the sunlight poking through. Nice head of white capped the top and settled down smoothly and evenly, creating a decent broken crown that ringed the side of the glass and kept some nice lacing. Aroma was light, and this would be a trend throughout the day. Light notes of peach and light grain are really all that is coming through right now. Warming brought a smidge of citrus to it, but nothing really standing out here for me at all. Crisp, clean flavor

A: Pale straw with just a hint of richness to the hue. Bright and clear with a few small brisk bubbles rising to join the white head of modest size. Settles pretty quick to a skim but leave fairly plentiful lacing.

S: Bready / biscuity fresh milled grain with a touch of sweetness. Hops come through herbal but pretty light and clean. I get some else too, sort of yeasty & metallic that. I can’t really place it and don’t much care for it.

T: Much hoppier. Herbal & grassy – vaguely tea-like (but not astringent). Through the middle there is some spice and a faint touch of mint. At the backend there is an earthy undertone. Malts are biscuity and crackery, soflty grainy – more pale than pils – with just a hint of sweetness. Enough going on to pique the interest with out distracting. There are hints of golden fruits hiding at the edges and a soft lemon in the finish. A nice mix of Kolsch, Blonde, and Pils aspects.

M: A tad under medium body with enough CO2 to make it nicely crisp. Opens smooth and ends with a firm herbal drying. Refreshing.

D: No gimmicks, just well done and supremely drinkable summer time beer – or anytime beer. Other than the slight off-note in the nose, I really like it.

I have been seeing this on the shelves this summer, so finally picked up a single bottle when I saw it in the fridge at a store in CT.

Appearance is a bright yellow tone with a thin white head that leaves some lace after taking a couple sips. This one is more aromatic than other blonde ales with a nice lemon zest to it and some white bread. It has a taste of hops, citrus and grass. This has a body that is a bit thin, but finishes crisp. A very good beer for a warm summer day.

12oz undated but recently purchased bottle.

A hazy yellow straw with a average white head that has OK duration but leaves more than average lacing.

Mild aroma, and not particularly attractive. Earthy, fruity (mainly citrus), overly floral, with some off notes.

T - has more and much better flavor than anticipated. More hop contribution than usual for style, with some malt background, a lemony tint, and a bit of yeasty fruitiness.

M - Thin, semi-watery. Good carbonation.

O - a mix of good and bad. Rather striking contrast between aroma and taste.

Aroma has a tart citrus note in it along with some wet grain paired with it.

Taste starts out citric with a bit of tartness (lime?) to it. Along with it, there is a little peppery spiciness present and a note of cereal grains. The hops assert themselves with a mild, but stingy bitterness at the finish. A little citrus hangs around after the swallow.

Pretty good summer brew here. Nothing fancy or exciting, but it has more character than many summer beers.

Presently #4 in the American Blonde Ale category here on BA. Can you dig it?

A: Mildly hazy, straw color with a wistful white foam that formed on top of the brew and stayed somewhat.

S: Puffs of yeast and Victory's hop profile. It's almost like Helios without the farmhouse funk.

T: The reason this one is so good is the same reason that Prima Pils so good: It literally lays on the palate impeccable for a summer brew! Perfect balance between the sweet bread quality, the mild citrus notes, and the semi-dry finish.

M: Subtle, yet glorious bitter lingering. The lacing that was left on the glass just fell back into it.

O: I may get some heat for this, but I've decided to rate this beer to style, and since that is the case, I don't feel this one deserves any less than an A.

This nice, clean, golden ale immediately invites with a rich head of fine white foam and spotty lace on the glass.

The aroma? Crisp and delightful, with plenty of fresh citrus hops and even a trace of fruit.

I get more of the hoppiness in the taste, but this one isn't bitter or harsh at all. There seems to be hints of citrus and even apricot in there. A delicious and palate-pleasing summer brew with tons of nuance and flavor, all the while remaining light and drinkable. Winner!

Picked up a sixer at Total Wine. Poured into a standard shaker pint...

A: Pours a pale, straw gold with a touch of haze; a cotton-white, one-finger head forms on the top and fades leaving some specks and webs of lace.

S: Light bread crust; lemon / orange zest with some grassy notes in the hop profile.

T: Snappy, cracker malt; a pinch of pepper; lemon rind and some herby hops; its got a nice, lightly bitter finish.

M: Medium-bodied; high carbonation; crisp and refreshing.

O: Very drinkable... perhaps my new favorite summer seasonal. Light and refreshing, yet tasty... mmm.

Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a BBC pint glass.

A: Pale golden straw color with sterling clarity beneath a huge, frothy head of white foam which subsides to a thin bubbly coating, leaving behind a bit of lace.

S: Extremely grassy, spicy and floral with a citrusy twang, milled grain & slight metallic funk.

T: Bittersweet, clean and slightly creamy biscuit flavor up front with a potent, herbal, spicy and citrus flavor that leads out very dry with a metallic hop pull on the back of the throat before washing away clean and with residual bitterness.

M: Light bodied, clean, crisp and slightly creamy with a very dry and prickly finish.

O: If you're into light, authentic German style beers, this could be your go-to beer of the summer. The sessionable ABV and light, clean flavors make it inoffensive and enjoyable on many levels, for the summer that is. Victory even does light beer well, not shocking.

A: Pours a golden yellow with a nice fluffy head thats almost pure white.

S: Smells, bready, spicey, fruity with a touch of lemon.

T: Taste is like the nose, lots of nice bready malts and a touch of spice. Some citrus hops and lemon zest.

M: Light bodied and refreshing. Super easy to quaff a bunch of. GReat carbonation.

Overall: A great beer that does what it's supposed to do. Quench and refresh during the summer months. This is a straight forward, no frills, offering from Victory thats perfect when grilling.

708th Review on BA
Bottle to pint
12 oz

No date

App- Very clear light yellow with a two finger head that fades to a pitri dish like top. Clumps of foam all over. Nice wall of cling down the sides.

Smell- At 1st it was a bit of an APA. Then comes the lager yeast a bit grainular and a little spice.

Taste- Much more like an APA with a nice hop base and a touch of lemon. Quite refreshing and a bigger than I thought a blonde could be. A well balanced little beer.

Mouth- Medium bodied and medium carbonated. A nice lemon bitter.

Drink- Tasty, balanced and a little hops bitter. It was a nice cold refreshing beer. I might go back for a six pack.

Picked up a case at my local distributor. This beer pours a clear light gold with excellent carbonation and small white head. Smells of floral and faint citrus hops. A little lemon character is in there. Tastes crisp, light and refreshing with a kiss of bitterness at the end. Kind of has a Granny Smith apple taste to it (which I really dig). An awesome session beer. Takes a couple of beers to get accustomed to, but in no time I found myself flying through these. I think I just found my new go-to beer for the summer! Another great job by Victory.

Pour a light gold with a small white head. Fairly good retention.

Smells like lemon and bready malts.

Taste is a lot bigger than I expected. Great lemon/citrus hop flavor with a touch of bread throughout. Finishes spicy and very crisp and clean. Almost more of a characteristic of a good German pils.

Mouthfeel is very light with high carbonation levels.

Overall a very refreshing crisp beer. I've heard good things about this and wasn't disappointed. One of the better summer beers I've had. Definitely more flavor than your average summer ale.

12 oz. bottle,

A: Pours gold with a medium white head leaving minimal lace. Very good retention.

S: Lemonheads and orange candy, has a soda like smell at times. Solid bready malt.

T: Easy going bready malt, with a very Kolsch like flavour of golden raisins and yellow apple. Noticable grassy hop flavour, but nothing over the top. A delicate balance working here.

M: Light-bodied, crisp, smooth, a palate cleanser.

O: This is a very nice blonde ale. It has considerable Kolsch characteristics with a hoppy American twist. I wish they had this beer at the ballpark, I'd be happy.
