A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface. There is no visible carbonation.
S: There is a light to moderate aroma of caramel malts with notes of floral hops in the nose.
T: The taste is rather malty and has notes of caramel and hints of sweetness. A very slight amount of bitterness is present in the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a light amount of carbonation.
D: The beer goes down rather easily; I could have several of them in a single sitting.

On tap @ the Victory Brewing Company (Downingtown, PA) on 10/16/10. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a beautiful looking light copper, topped with a finger of bright-white frothy head. This retains with some rich foaminess around the edges, which flares quite nicley and throws some thick and sticky clumps of lace up on the sides of the glass. The aroma is floral and earthy smelling, with some light spice and a rather pronounced fruitiness. This mixes with the malt character here in the nose to impart a rather interesting tangy feel that is coming off as familiar to me but I can't quite put my finger on it. This is decent.

The Hallertau hops really add an earthy and spicy edge to the taste but the bitterness levels are mostly held in check. Fruit is once again very strong here and is brought out even more by the tight toasted bready sweetness of the malts. This finishes with some light citrus peel and lingering spice, leaving behind a moderate dryness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a crisp snap to the carbonation and a mostly clean feel throughout. This is easy feeling and smooth overall.

I wish that I had paid more attention to the literature on this that they had at the brewery. I think that maybe it said something about this being based on the Märzen beers that were served at Oktoberfest back in the 80's. Or I could just be talking out of my ass here. Anyway, this was mostly good, with a flavorful and crisp feeling presence to it. The only drawback here was that the fruitiness of this got to be a bit wearing during the duration of this imperial pint and held the drinkibility of this back some.

Beer is yellow and clear, served on draft in a shaker pint. White head, small and large bubbles, moderate carbonaiton, moderate retention, some lacing.

Aroma is clean and mildly malty sweet.

Beer is wet and easy drinking, love it. I really do. This is my sort of beer, clean and clear and just a joy to drink. I want a keg of this. Definitely a repeat.

16oz pint glass.

A- Bright golden yellow with a sparse pattern of light foam, no stick.

S- A light natured beer with soft scents of pale malt, grassy hops, light sweet caramel and hay.

T- Very str8 forward beer with a lighter approach to a marzen. Flavors dont really come out up front, in short some small citrus mixed with pale malt with some sweetness afterwards.

M-Light bodied refreshing, easy to gulp.

D- Simple beer that is drinkable. A good lager. Easy peazzy.

Walked into Beermuda one Friday and this just happens to be on tap for 2 dollars. Seeing it's over 6% for a pint I found it a best buy.

A - Not very dark looks kind of like Hofbräuhaus Oktoberfest very clear bright amber brown, more yellow if anything. Head is minimal with just a 1/4 inch that fades.
S - Not too malty has a herbal hop bitterness, some lemons, and a mild bit of biscuit. If I was untold I would have sworn this was a Pilsner.
T - Again drinks more like a pilsner with skunky balanced yeast/malts, some herbal hop bitterness, and a clean bit of malt.
M - Light to medium it drinks rather well. On par with the style.

Overall it was a decent beer nothing to seek out again, but for 2 bucks it was pound able.

Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance – Pours a clear medium golden color with a one finger white head that fades very rapidly. Upon fading there is only a very light lacing left on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is of a yeasty and biscuit smell. Mixed with these aromas are some lighter notes of a lighter citrus and some herbal aromas as well.

Taste – The taste begins of a drier malty flavor. Some flavors of a more lemon nature come to the tongue. With the lemon are notes of yeast and some hay-like flavors. Toward the end, grassy and herbal flavors along with the lightest bit of citrus sweetness move into the taste and create a lightly hopped crisp taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the lighter side with a carbonation level that is average to slightly above average. Both are good for the style and create a very crisp feel on the tongue.

Overall – A crisp and refreshing brew. While not the most complex, it is refreshing with a nice aftertaste left lingering on the tongue. Not too bad.

Growler into stout-style pint glass.

Pours with a short 1F head over a very clear light golden body. Head fades quickly to a whispy film. Looks like a macro.

Lots of freshly baked bread crust in the aroma - the yeast is all over this. Light sweetness, and a touch of cardboard.

Pretty smooth on the palate. Flavors are not your typical Marzen. Yes, lots of malt sweetness, but the hops are different...softer maybe? There is a corn-like sweetness that goes along with the fresh soft pretzel flavor. Just a kiss of hop bite in the finish. Feels richer than the ABV suggests (and I swear that it's listed as 7.2 at the brewpub).

Mouthfeel is lacking some carbonation (could just be the week in a growler), making this highly drinkable ... dare I say chugable. So it's spot on for the style.

I really enjoy this beer - it reminds me a lot of Paulaner's special "Wiesn Bier" that comes in the 1L can. Tasty, rich, and easy drinking for the ABV. And at $8 for a growler, it's a freaking absolute bargain.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a scant white head. Nose is at first a light, grassy pilsner malt, with some fairly prominent yeast coming through as it opens. Flavor is sweet upfront, a banana kind of sweetness, with grassy yeast and a fairly prominent hop bite on the finish. This grew on me, it's very soft and enjoyable. Somewhere between a German pils, a saison, and even somewhat of an IPA. Kind of like an imperial pilsner saison, cool?
