On tap @ the VBC (Downingtown, PA) on 10/22/11. Served in a Pils glass.

Pours a crystal clear coppery gold, with a rich finger of bright-white head. This retains with a thin creamy frothiness that throws up some sudsy lacing that proceeds to hang in thick patches down the sides of the glass. This has a real nice look to it. The aroma is fresh and leafy smelling, with a light spicy and citric earthiness. There’s a touch of a medicinal or herbal quality here that hangs on the edges, while some tight feeling sweetness sits underneath. This really has a fresh brightness here that I’m digging.

The taste is fresh and crisp overall in the mouth, with a fruity citrus character that trails spice out into the mouth. There is a soft earthiness present that mellows the profile just enough to allow those toasted grains to show a bit more here than they did in the nose. This actually ends up having a pretty nice balance to it. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and even parts sharp and creamy, meeting in the middle to achieve a nice smooth crispness in the mouth that moves those flavors around nicely.

You usually just can’t go wrong with a fresh Pils at Victory and this one continues the streak. This was tight and crisp in the mouth, with more of a mellow and herbal hop profile that added to the overall accessibility of this. This was just so refreshing and another one that I could imbibe all day long.

Draft at The Pour House in Westmont, NJ.

Pours a slightly hazy, dark golden yellow color with a two finger frothy white head that slowly fades into a lasting cap. The glass is left coated with chunks of soapy lacing.

Earthy aroma with a fresh grassy hop presence along with subtle spice, pale malt, light fruit and straw.

Medium bodied with a crisp hop bite up front that lingers over the pale malts into a dry finish. Dry and slightly spicy with grass and subtle pine flavor countered by pilsner malt, straw and light fruit.  Hoppy but not overly bitter with a some sweetness balancing things out.   There's surprisingly some boozy heat in the finish that hurts drinkability but this beer is still pretty refreshing.
