Served in a tulip at Ye Olde Forge in Lanesboro, MA.

This was a fairly dark IIPA, for the genre. Reasonable head retention and overall appearance. While I like a strong beer with a supporting malty backbone, I was quite disappointed by the lack of hop profile. It was almost completely devoid of hoppy characteristics, and dominated by malt. Mouthfeel was substantial, which was appreciated. I'm not sure if this keg had been around for a while, allowing some of the hops to diminish, but i certainly expected more of a punch in that respect. I would be willing to revisit.
