Appearance: This pours a light and clear color, indicative of a macro lager, with lots of bubbles flying toward the surface. There's some good lacing going on.

Smell: Mild for a DIPA and even for an IPA, there's some floral and citrus notes in the smell. There's a bitter note in there--maybe lemon.

Taste: The citrus (lemon particularly but also orange) flavors are excellent. There is a lot of great hop flavor, and it's bitter, but it's also very drinkable. The alcohol is concealed very well, and it's really quite flavorful.

Mouthfeel: This goes down easy, the alcohol is well concealed, and while dry, it finishes clean and with a touch of sweetness from the citrus. Thickness and carbonation are balanced.

Overall: This is a very good DIPA even though it's not a "hop bomb" by most standards. The flavors work well here, the alcohol is well concealed, the beer goes down easy, the mouthfeel is good, and even though it's very hoppy it always seems to be somehow balanced. I'd look for this again.

A few thoughts on Hop Ranch. Pours lighter than expected, more the color of a Pale Ale or dare I say a Pilsner? Moderate lacing coats my Ithaca pint glass. Wafting from the bottle is a touch of fruit cocktail. Nice popping carbo delivers white grape/lemony zest hop flavors followed by a very faint pale malt, ending with a slight tart dryness. No lingering bitterness at all. Just slightly tart and dry which induces my next swig. Drinkability is off the charts. Previous to having this I knocked down a Rogue Yellow Snow IPA ironically being more the heavy sipper. Hop Ranch is light and thirst quenching for a DIPA. Very dangerous, I recommend especially if your a hop fan. So glad I don't have to search far from home for quality IPAs/DIPAs thanks Victory for Hop Ranch/Dirt Wolf and Troegs for IPA and Nugget Nectar...
