Pours a dark amber with chestnut brown highlights, clean and clear, little head. Scent leads with a lightly sweet and roasted nutty character, touches of brown sugar and honey, light biscuity notes, moderate herbal hopyness. Taste follows suit - subtle and delicate notes of toasted nuts and light sugar are the star with a kiss of spice and herbal notes. Medium bodied. Nice, unique brew, would love for a couple things to be turned up a notch.

Pours a clean amber color with some head. A bit of lacing on the glass. Aroma is malty and nutty - nice and clean. Chestnut present up fronts on the flavor and stays throughout this brew. Nice clean amber ale as the backbone. A good beer for the colder time of year and sessionable - need a warm fireplace.

On tap at the brewery
A-amber with a thin white head. Light even for a red ale, not that I care
S-very mild and fresh scent of grains and caramel. Almost nothing there.
T-comes in with a very creamy taste of caramel and sweet grains. It's really just a plain red ale. Matching faint after-taste
M-creamy medium carbonation with a creamy finish
O-advertised as a red ale made with hazel nut, which has a very distinct smell and taste which I can't find here. It's not terrible, but it's beyond boring!
