Appearance: Dark amber with a splash of ruby thought the center and golden glow on the edges. It had a long last huge frothy head that faded to a frothy cap that lasted to duration of the beer. Nice heavy lacing.
Smell: The alcohol does clearly show through this beer. It like that aspect but it may be too big a beer for some peoples preference. In the aroma there is also very nice toasted butterscotch, brown sugar and caramel. Finally there is a fresh homemade bread smell that lingers in the nose. mmm.
Taste & Mouthfeel: Very smooth feel as it enters the mouth. It leads with a sweet malt character that is immediately backed up with some bold alcohol that is in no way offensive or cloying, it is just making itself known. There is a brilliant balance of exotic fruits and spices layered in the super smooth silky mouthfeel. Excellent.
Drinkability: This beer is extremely easy to enjoy but it is a sipping beer. It is very big. It also very classy and would easily suit as accompaniment to a fine dinner and guests.
Hope this is helpful.
