Consumed at 8 months

Appearance- Pours a deep golden color, almost golden orange when held to light, slight haziness. Fairly subdued bubbly white head, one finger thick at best. Moderate lacing on sides of glass.
Aroma- Beautiful white grape must, fruity sweetness. Moderate oak tanin notes, slight creamy aromas as well. Belgian characteristics are quite subdued but present, nice yeasty earthiness, slight spice.
Taste- Sweet white wine grape, some brighter fruits like apples or pears accompany. Oaky earthiness and spice kick in mid palate, finishes with a beautiful vanilla and buttery creaminess, fairly dry.
Feel- Medium to lighter body, fairly dry and crisp. Carbonation much more subdued than the base beer. Certain creaminess and slick feel as well.
Overall- Belgian tripel and white wine barrel sound like a beautiful marriage. The base beer definetly lost a lot of its traditional belgian qualities, but at the same time picked up lots of wonderful new flavors from the barrel. Real enjoyable grape must notes, but also a nice oakiness and creamy vanilla/buttery dry finish, like a nice chardonnay. Overall, very enjoyale to sip

On tap at Rattle n Hum. Nice golden hue, very little headtons of aromas that are so numerous I can't parse them out but I will say they add up to an intriguing mix. Taste is just as exotically tempting. On the sweet side with no hops in sight. Monkey business no doubt. Keep me posted.

BTW designated as defunct. Mine was a nice fresh pour, but it is Halloween so welcome back from the dead.
