Purchased at Dogwood Growlers in Kennesaw, GA. Great place.
Appearance 4.0: Really nice amber-golden color to this beer. Nice 1/2" head quickly faded into very attractive foamy residue that lasted the entire session. Good lacing.
Smell 2.75: Note to brewers: adopt a male cat. Litter box train it. Now, when blending hops for your IPAs (Imperial or otherwise) make sure that -when combined-- they do not produce a smell like the cat's urine. If only the brewers at Liberty followed this simple procedure. Bleargh. However, there are some good points to this beer's bouquet, it's just that the cat urine thing...yeah, hard to move beyond it.
Taste 3.5: Front is...nuts, I still detect some of that cat pee at this taste level. Nonetheless, the middle is a revelation with a big kick of lovely pine, grapefruit rind, a subtle floral taste; all balanced with a very pleasant maltiness. Finish is big in the front of the palate with malt, sweetness and hop bitterness, then fades quickly into the Aftertaste level which is long and hoppy and very satisfying. Almost makes me forget about the cat pee.
Mouthfeel 3.5: Typical C02 carbonation (it's a growler, duh!) that was right on the money for the style.
Overall 3.5: Good beer and good example of the style. Not a hint of the massive ABV this bad boy packs, so be careful. However, let this beer stand as an example to other brewers: match the blended hop scent with care before you go into final production.

Had a growler filled at Premier Gourmet this weekend....I love that place.Poured into an impy nonic a clear light to medium golden with a great looking blooming white head that left two multiple rings of lace as it settled into a frothy mass.Pine and grapefruit along with sugary sweetness in the nose, there is drunken fruit element to it.Fresh citric hops greet the taste buds that melds into a grassiness and then into a sweet dough caramel base,a sugary alcohol element is there but doesn't overpower the hops.I like it,top 5....not sure, but it kicks ass.

12oz bottle poured into Mr. Pint.
Appearance: A hazy, mostly translucent yellow with brisk bubbling action and a white head that leaves a little bit of lacing on the side of the glass as it slowly dies down.
Smell: Holy complex nose, Batman! Citrus, hops, pine, grass, grapefruit all just take their turn in blasting out for my enjoyment.
Taste: Very much reflects the nose. Nice, complex - and distinct - flavors centered around citrus, pine, grass, and hops hit pretty good.
Mouthfeel: Pretty crisp. A little bit of the pine lingers as an aftertaste.
Overall: Well, then. $9.45 for a 4 pack well spent!

A: A light colored DIPA that is a deep golden beer with good clarity. The white head is quick to fade into a thin cap of soapy bubbles.
S: A strong citrus hops aroma that mostly has notes of grapefruit, pine, some pineapple and a fair amount of an herbal character. There is a light malt a sweetness and a low alcohol sweetness.
T: An aggressive hops bitterness and a very strong citrus hop flavors. The hop flavors are a lemon/lime, pine, some mango and little citrus zest. There is just enough malt for support and nothing more making for a very bitter balance. The finish is off-dry with a lingering, citrus hops flavor and bitterness. There is some herbal qualities to the hop flavor that is more apparent towards the finish.
M: A medium bodied beer with a light creaminess and a strong level of carbonation.
O: A very well crafted Double IPA that brings a ton of American citrus hops to the party. The entire focus and balance of the beer is out towards showcasing the hops.
