Solid, >2 finger beautiful white head with great retention. Surprisingly pale straw color, with a hint of orange highlights. Close to transparent. Nice layered lacing.
Dank, thickly hoppy cat pee aroma. Some citrus or tropical fruit is fighting through the rest of the scent to be noticed. Hint of burnt rubber or pepper. Some wheat in the background.
Fairly dry hoppiness in the flavor profile, very subdued; just a smooth, even sip. As it washes over your tongue, a heavy dose of citrus and tropical fruit starts to stand out, giving a slightly sweet, very refreshing and smooth finish. Resinous. Some bitter green (read: leaf, not unlike salad or tobacco) hop residue all over your mouth.
Extremely well-hidden 8.75% ABV beer; unbelievably smooth. Medium-light feel, very easy-going, and while it's pretty lively, there's neither a carbonation sting nor that flat, syrupy effect. Extremely easy to drink. Very strong hop oil residue all around; bitter and resinous, but not unpleasant, aftertaste.
This beer has been pretty hyped and beloved on the forum since its release. That said, it mostly lives up to it. Amazingly drinkable; very, very dank and resinous; some solid flavoring hops as well. Almost no malt presence in the face of the hop assault, but I don't mind at all. "Balanced" is not a term that probably needs to be applied to this beer, and that's 100% OK.
Enjoy by date is nearly impossible to read, but it's from last week's delivery, and has to be October, November, or December, so this is pretty fresh.

Re-rating this based off a fresh from the tap beer at Victory. I had previously rated this a 3.75 a long time back when I first had it and that was underrated. This review I tried to temper with the fact that most likely the bottle can't live up to what I'm having here, but my thought is it is closer to this rating than my original.
A: hazy-to-cloudy pale yellow with a great head and lots of lacing.
S: this fresh beer is probably a 5+ for an IPA. Smells like opening a piney hop bag for home brewing (unfortunately I don't know what fresh hops themselves smell like, but I can guess). Downside-all you get is hops, upside is the same. Did not give a 5 b/c in am guessing this is as fresh as you can get, and that affects it. Then again, never had any fresh IPA with this amount of hop nose. Oh-smells like your fresh cut Christmas tree.
T: the crazy pine scent does not come into the taste initially. The taste has a base earthy taste, with some citrus notes. The pine enters early mid taste, soon after the lemon-touched grapefruit taste, which is something that doesn't always work for me, but I do t mind it as much here as there is a little sweetness (honey-like) that lessens the blow.
M: very good carbonation, medium body. The ending is quite dry and a bit resinous.
O: definitely deserves a try and can see why it held a spot near the top of the IPA list at one point. I pick this up from time to time already, but will have to check what I get in bottles against this review.
