Finally got around to picking up a 4-pack of this at my local Wegmans for $9.99.
A - Pours a golden straw color with a creamy, bright white 3 finger head that hangs around for a while before receding to a cap. Creamy lines of lace after every sip.
S - Pungent! Just tons of bright, clean citrus... Peach, underripe mango, pineapple, grapefruit rind. I mean this thing just smells juicy as all get out. Some slight sweet caramel malts are detectable, but the hops are the star here.
T - Some semi-bitter grapefruit rind at the front of the tongue quickly gives way to big, sweet citrus and tropical fruits... More mango, peach, orange, and pineapple. This brew really packs in a lot of juicy hop flavor, start to finish. The finish hits you with some moderate bitterness, with a lingering sweet pineapple flavor. Just delicious.
M - Medium bodied with a dry finish. Some lingering bitterness and sweet fruit. Some very slight alcohol warmth, but super easy drinking for a double IPA. Creamy, moderate carbonation.
O - Victory really surprised me with this one (hell, I think it surprised the whole BA community). Easily makes my top 5 list of double IPAs, and that ain't an easy list to make. World class for sure. Just an explosion of bright, clean citrus and tropical fruit without bitterness overkill. I'm pretty damn stoked I live 15 minutes from the brewery right now!

12 oz. bottle with an enjoy by date of October 14, 2014. Pours into a Stone tulip a brilliant medium-gold with a huge, frothy, rocky white head. The head lasts about 3-4 minutes before settling into a crown with thick chunks of lacing spread around the rim of the tulip.
Nose is huge, hoppy, and smells like it Victory brewed this on the opposite coast. Massive citrus aromas: grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple. Dank resin and floral aromas are also evident. Almost a slight garlicy smell, which is a little strange since there's apparently no Summit in the recipe. Slight hint of spice, particularly chive.
Flavor is very juicy. Tons of tropical fruits, followed by floral and resiny flavors. Just a slight hint of caramel and honey malts, and a spicy finish. Very little bitterness for the style. Slight alcohol warmth, but you can barely taste it.
Medium bodied with a low-medium level of carbonation. Very easy on the palate; dry, refreshing even.
This is a wonderful DIPA. Definitely hop-dominant, but a very well-selected blend of hops gives it a very complex flavor and bouquet. Excellent all around and relatively low ABV for the style. Victory rarely disappoints, and it has produced another winner with DirtWolf.
