Finally got around to picking up a 4-pack of this at my local Wegmans for $9.99.
A - Pours a golden straw color with a creamy, bright white 3 finger head that hangs around for a while before receding to a cap. Creamy lines of lace after every sip.
S - Pungent! Just tons of bright, clean citrus... Peach, underripe mango, pineapple, grapefruit rind. I mean this thing just smells juicy as all get out. Some slight sweet caramel malts are detectable, but the hops are the star here.
T - Some semi-bitter grapefruit rind at the front of the tongue quickly gives way to big, sweet citrus and tropical fruits... More mango, peach, orange, and pineapple. This brew really packs in a lot of juicy hop flavor, start to finish. The finish hits you with some moderate bitterness, with a lingering sweet pineapple flavor. Just delicious.
M - Medium bodied with a dry finish. Some lingering bitterness and sweet fruit. Some very slight alcohol warmth, but super easy drinking for a double IPA. Creamy, moderate carbonation.
O - Victory really surprised me with this one (hell, I think it surprised the whole BA community). Easily makes my top 5 list of double IPAs, and that ain't an easy list to make. World class for sure. Just an explosion of bright, clean citrus and tropical fruit without bitterness overkill. I'm pretty damn stoked I live 15 minutes from the brewery right now!

Re-rating this based off a fresh from the tap beer at Victory. I had previously rated this a 3.75 a long time back when I first had it and that was underrated. This review I tried to temper with the fact that most likely the bottle can't live up to what I'm having here, but my thought is it is closer to this rating than my original.
A: hazy-to-cloudy pale yellow with a great head and lots of lacing.
S: this fresh beer is probably a 5+ for an IPA. Smells like opening a piney hop bag for home brewing (unfortunately I don't know what fresh hops themselves smell like, but I can guess). Downside-all you get is hops, upside is the same. Did not give a 5 b/c in am guessing this is as fresh as you can get, and that affects it. Then again, never had any fresh IPA with this amount of hop nose. Oh-smells like your fresh cut Christmas tree.
T: the crazy pine scent does not come into the taste initially. The taste has a base earthy taste, with some citrus notes. The pine enters early mid taste, soon after the lemon-touched grapefruit taste, which is something that doesn't always work for me, but I do t mind it as much here as there is a little sweetness (honey-like) that lessens the blow.
M: very good carbonation, medium body. The ending is quite dry and a bit resinous.
O: definitely deserves a try and can see why it held a spot near the top of the IPA list at one point. I pick this up from time to time already, but will have to check what I get in bottles against this review.
