Aroma: Perfumey hop aromatics up front. Citrus notes abound lending to lemon and apricot. Also get some ripe melon notes as well. Fermentation character is clean. Can smell a bit of alcohol on the nose.
Appearance: Cloudy amber pour with a white head that retains well. Appears still in glass.
Flavor: Big citrus punch up front. Lots of orange juice like hop flavors as well. A touch of bready malt base quickly gets bitten down by a firm hop bitterness and more orange and lemon hop flavors. Finish is clean and dry.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Slightly oily with definitive warmth on the back of the palate.
Overall impression: A very drinkable, assertively hoppy IPA. Sorry, it's just not in the double category for me. It is in the ballpark with Columbus Brewing and Fat Head's IPA but I just can't see it as a double.

12oz bottle poured into a standard pint glass.
Pours a nice hazy golden color with a small but fairly thick head. Very good lacing.
Smells like citrus. Lots of grapefruit on the nose. Subdued malt smells as well, very faint.
Taste is nice and hoppy. Good citrus flavor from the hops. Not overpoweringly hoppy, but still very hoppy. The hops are somewhat made milder by a slight maltiness. Maybe even some less acidic fruit taste as well.
As far as mouthfeel goes, this beer was much creamier than I was expecting. With as much grapefruit as it had in the nose I expected a very crisp IPA. Not gonna lie, I'm a big fan of malty beers, so I loved the mouthfeel.
Very good beer.
