This pours a golden orange color with a pillowy white head that is 2 inches thick. Nice lacing as it goes down.
Nose is unlike any beer I've had to the best of my knowledge. This is more like opening a sack of….well maybe you get where I am going with this. Wow! Needless to say there is a pleasant aroma of pine, tangerine and resin.
Smooth. Medium body. Not too carbonated or bitter at first. Beautiful hop bouquet. Complex and just hits so many places. Citrus, pine and something I cannot quite pick up. This maybe a newer hop than I am not equipped to decipher yet. It is wonderful though. Some grassy characters from the malts but these play well with the hop presence. Earthy tones and a blending that is again wonderful. The 8.7% is hidden well and doesn't overpower the sense.
Ok, here comes more of the bitterness as this goes down. Pine and hop oils left to coat the tongue. Still a delicious beer. A quick glance at the hops in this and I'm guessing the Mosiac is what I'm getting that I cannot judge. Could this be the blueberry I've heard about? It is fantastic!
I've heard this replaces Hop Wallop. I'll be sad to see it go but this is a worthy replacement for sure.

Re-rating this based off a fresh from the tap beer at Victory. I had previously rated this a 3.75 a long time back when I first had it and that was underrated. This review I tried to temper with the fact that most likely the bottle can't live up to what I'm having here, but my thought is it is closer to this rating than my original.
A: hazy-to-cloudy pale yellow with a great head and lots of lacing.
S: this fresh beer is probably a 5+ for an IPA. Smells like opening a piney hop bag for home brewing (unfortunately I don't know what fresh hops themselves smell like, but I can guess). Downside-all you get is hops, upside is the same. Did not give a 5 b/c in am guessing this is as fresh as you can get, and that affects it. Then again, never had any fresh IPA with this amount of hop nose. Oh-smells like your fresh cut Christmas tree.
T: the crazy pine scent does not come into the taste initially. The taste has a base earthy taste, with some citrus notes. The pine enters early mid taste, soon after the lemon-touched grapefruit taste, which is something that doesn't always work for me, but I do t mind it as much here as there is a little sweetness (honey-like) that lessens the blow.
M: very good carbonation, medium body. The ending is quite dry and a bit resinous.
O: definitely deserves a try and can see why it held a spot near the top of the IPA list at one point. I pick this up from time to time already, but will have to check what I get in bottles against this review.
