A delicious farmhouse ale with the perfect balance of Turkish figs and wildflower honey.

Really weird taste. Maybe the figs? I'm not sure, but something overpowering that throws this whole beer off to me.

Worthy to try, a bit imbalanced. Tastes like a trippel.

I had this on draught at a Durham Bulls baseball game. Served in a plastic cup. It pours a medium golden color without much head or lacing due the temperature at which served. The nose features the anticipated Saison smells of banana, coriander, clove, and yeast. The smell is not bold. The taste is fine, with all the expected elements but nothing in particular stands out. In fairness, this may be due to being served cold. It's pleasantly carbonated and the 6.5% ABV is barely noticeable. Overall, this is a solid, but not distinguishable, Saison. I'd like to try it from the can so I can control the serving temperature.

Pours a straw with a white head and lacing. aromas of bread and dough, some nuts and fruit. Flavors of nuts, figs, bread, spices and a hint of honey.

A: Pours a relatively clear medium amber in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation and some moderate copper highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy beige head that reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of bready malts, spicy saison yeast, and light aromas of dark fruit (fig). Hints of honey sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready malts with a light to moderate amount of honey sweetness. That is followed by a light bit of citrus/lemon acidity and a moderate flavor of spicy/peppery saison yeast. Finally there is a hint of dark fruit/fig in the finish. Light amounts of lingering bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: An interesting combination of figs, honey, and a saison/farmhouse ale - the flavors work well together though that is not surprising since figs and honey are often served together. Not overly sweet which was a concern of mine on reading the description of the beer and quite easy to drink. I enjoyed it but not sure I will be rushing to get any more of it as I tend to like my saisons a little more traditional.
