330ml bottle. Westmalle Goblet glass. Pours bright dark ruby in color, clear appearance & ruby tints to the light. Off-white foam, close crown forms a thin & lasting layer on top. Slight sugary, plum, yeast & intense herbal aromas, subtle spiced, candy, cane sugar & ripe grape hues, alcanfor & phenol notes. Sweet/acidic fruit –berries & plum- & sugary flavors at first sip. Medium to full body. Moderate to high carbonation. Dense to watery texture & spiced sensation. Gentle herbal bitterness, woody notes & kind acidic touch in the middle. Long bitter/sweet finish & fruity aftertaste. ABV is felt as a light heat. Refreshing & delicious.

A:Clear filtered, medium wood stain brown, no foam, only a little beige film at the edge of the glass, very low carbonation.
S: Cherries, children’s glue, the part you lick on an envelope , dark fruits especially prunes and figs, a little hint of black pepper.
T: Solid dubbel with the prunes and figs coming in first, slightly sweet, a little pepper, leather, slight caramel, alcohol also comes in.
M: Medium syrupy body, little carbonation.
O: A nice dubbel. Complex as the scent and taste vary, reminds me in taste of Chimay Red. Definitely lots of things going on and its interesting enough to keep sipping. The bottle is great.

Coulor was deep brown, almost black, with a small foam layer.
I could not detect a lot of smell, some faint roasted/burned smell.
Taste was burned and smoky upfront, covering all of the potential other tastes. In the back were cooked vegetables and some maltiness.
The overly burned flavour spoiled the beer, it reminded me of an experiment where I put some black malt in water and let it sit all night. The water had turned black and was very non-subtle maltbitter, like charcoal. Together with the (too) thin body of this beer, I can not recommend it, sorry.
