a very good stout here, perfect for winter. its nice and dry but really frothy and big in body, yet somehow not at all filling. its got some cool dark flavors in there with the roast of the grain, including a mild almost rye spice, dried cherry, bakers chocolate, and that sweetish weird sexy aromatic you get from the very first puff of a hand rolled cigarette. complex for sure, but not unapproachable or overdone, its right there where it should be for keeping my attention but not necessarily my focus, thats what i like in beers i drink by the pint usually. the yeast is crusty like bread, and plays really well with the dark grain in this and makes a wonderfully round yet dry finish. i could drink five of these and enjoy each one as much as the one before it. perfect for the early winter and very well made.

My first Ursula beer will not be my last. This was a very good oatmeal stout, not quite as dry as most of that ilk, and pretty smooth too. Good flavor, not too strong, even good on a warm day. They have a nitro version too but the tap wasn't working correctly - maybe next time.

On tap at the brewery. Dark black, ok head, pretty typical stout appearance. Aroma was a bit of roast, dark malts. The flavor had a real black licorice thing going in that I did not care for at all so I didn't think it tasted very good and it didn't gave that silkiness that oatmeal beers usually have. Overall I would not order it again.
