Our Berliner Style Weisse is brewed using a traditional 3 part decoction using the thin part of the mash in each decoction. The hops are added and boiled during the decoction process. Unboiled, the beer then sits in the coolship overnight. The next day it is transferred to the tank and pitched with some house yeast making this a "semi-spontaneously" fermented ale.

32 oz. growler poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy pale yellow. Small white head than doesn't last.

Smell - Grainy with a strong yeasty aroma. Smells lightly acidic. Strange aroma.

Taste - Sharp sourness. Very grainy. A lot of weird yeasty flavors. A bit of mineral flavor in the end, almost like a gose.

Mouthfeel - Light body. Well carbonated. Strong sourness.

Overall - An odd berliner. When I thought about it too much, I didn't love it. When I just drank it, it was good.

Thanks to Thomas for this one!

Cloudy pale golden color, frothy foam and spotty lace around the edges.
Aromas of lemon and passionfruit, a little cheese rind funkiness in the periphery. Taste was similarly fruity and fairly sour, light passionfruit and lemon, maybe a hint of rhubarb. Cheese rind and a mild rustic funk from the bugs used. Light bodied, sour, and quenching. Really nice, more complex and wild than your typical Berliner. Very interesting and worth a try.

COld 750 ml bottle poured in to a snifter. the beer pours a cloudy gold color with minimal bleached white head foaming up in the glass. The head is tightly packed and sticks around through most of the sampling.
Aroma is tart notes with a bit of grain and some lemon zest and citrus note.
First sip reveals a very crisp textured body with fizzy carbonation and generally light easy drinking body.
Flavor is some grainy malt and a lot of tart lemon hits. NO booze or hops apparent anywhere. I didnt add the syrup to mine and enjoy the beer just fine. This is a tasty drinkable beer that is perfect for summer. Easy to drink and refreshing.

From a bottle, pours a lemonade yellow color with a fizzy head.

The nose is lemon, yeasty, floral, some berry and cheese funk. The flavor is simple, straightforward, lemon, citric acid, great brett character. It does leave a medicinal after taste, but just take another sip.

Pretty good.

The beer comes in an opaque golden yellow.

The beer offers a big pop of lemon tart, then onto lots of lactic sourness. The beer dries out gently. It is tart as Westbrook Gose, but without the coriander qualities. It almost tastes as if there is salt on the back end.

A delicious refreshing treat.

Beautiful sour! Fruity aromas of pear, apple apricot, subtle hints of bubblegum... Well balanced by a subdued sea salt and earthy flavors and aromas behind the wonderful tartness. Love the low abv, super drinkable and surprisingly complex for a Berliner. I'm quite impressed!

Pour is pale hazed yellow with a tight white head that fizzes away quickly. Nose has some toasted grain up front, lots of lemon, a hint of dusty yeast, slight band aide phenols. Taste has a similar toasted grain with huge lemon blasts, not sour, slightly tart. The toastiness lingers, a hint of leathery brett with a touch of dustiness to it. Short finish, light body and highly carbonated.

Growler shared by Mike T. Thanks Mike.

Light yellow body with a thin cap. Vegetal aroma with kiwi, lemon. Light and easy drinking with delicate lemon tartness. Easy drinking. Good stuff.

I don't know what you could ask for more in a Berliner. Really tart, refreshing, pale color. Awesome for the style. More sour then most, which I like.
