Definitely the best craft beer liquor store in nwi. As soon as you walk in, there is an entire aisle dedicated solely to craft beers. They also have some bombers cold in the back cooler. Every new Three Floyd's brew will be here for sure, as well as Stone, Bells, Founders, etc. The staff is knowledgeable and seem to enjoy what they do. The Indian dude will help with any tough decisions, especially if you know what style you like, and he knows the newer bottles that they might not have had the last time you were there. The bottles all look new and have yet to come across any dust on a bottle. If you're looking for a quality craft beer store in NWI, look no further. Also, it is conveniently located on route 41, dangerously close to the Three Floyd's Brewpub, might as well stop in to both. Ha. Cheers!

Family owned liquor store that could use some work. The quality of the craft beer selection is well above average. The service was friendly and helpful. A large selection of craft beer from Indiana, Michigan and national brewers. Most of the good beer is available cold. Recommended.

Basic mid sized box of a store, not far from the main highway connecting Chicago and northern Indiana, and for me Michigan.

Wonderful selection of all the fine brews distributed to this beer rich area...you will find loads of the good stuff, in cans and bottles. Friendly lady att he register, but I saw nobody to ask questions of on the floor.... this is a very worthy stop

Easily one of the two best bottle shops in NWI (w/ Pat's). Good selection of local Indiana and Michigan craft as well as the major national brands and decent selection of European stuff also. Nice and helpful staff too. Come here for FFF, 18th Street, Burn 'Em, Devil's Trumpet, Greenbush, etc. Prices are fine -- average for the area.

My main issue with Liquor Stop revolves around how they treat their customers, even their loyal regulars. I've bought craft beer from them probably 8-10x per year for the past 3 years so I've given them a lot of business. Had a recent episode where two owners/employees lied to my face about a product they either did/didn't have. It was Bell's Black Note. A great and rare beer. I knew they had it, they knew they had it, they told me they didn't and I should come back on Friday. I spent $30 on that very trip only to find out a day or so later when another buddy called them that they indeed still did have Black Note in stock...two days later. Now why on earth would you lie like that. I would have accepted a - We made a list and you are not on it; but an outright no we don't have it when you do? I don't get it. Do yourself a favor and drive out to Torrence Liquors in Calumet City and ask for Chris. Now that's a dude who knows how to treat his regulars.

This is my go-to to get craft beer considering its a stone throw from my house. There selection is getting more and more diverse. I was surprised I saw a lot of Great Divide and even some from The Bruery. But they do have a great selection, especially if you want some 3 Floyds they are a guarantee to have some: cold or warm.

I have stopped here a few times – both on my way up to Traverse City for vacation, and on my way to Three Floyds. The atmosphere is what you’d expect for a smaller family run liquor store. The quality of the store needs a bit of improvement. It is a bit rundown inside and is hot as hell which is not reassuring. The service for the times I have been there was relatively good. They had just got some Blushing Monk in a while back and let me know about it (it was behind the counter) and let me know of other random oddities. The selection is a hell of a lot better than the Discount Liquors a few minutes away, though over the past few years I have stopped in, they definitely do not have as much “rare” stuff that they used to have (I may attribute this in part to the fact that many more people are into craft beer now and pick up all the “rare” stuff that would have stayed on the shelves a few years ago). While the selection is good, the most disturbing thing was I saw year old Arctic Panzer Wolf on their shelves – the graphic of the Viking woman (not the wolf). This is disturbing for two reasons: first of all, it is a year old DIPA they are still trying to sell for $11 dollars; second of all, they are located less than ten minutes from Three Floyds and they are trying to pull this stunt. Sad. The value was good, though a hint pricier than stores I am accustomed to frequenting in Illinois. Overall I will still probably stop here if I am in town (though I admit I didn’t go here yesterday when I went to pick up some Zombie Dust), but this store can use some improvement.

This is a decent little shop-- lightyears ahead of either Delocke's Discount Liquor stores... At least, that's what I would have said last year.... There used be a never-ending supply of the best of the Smokestack beers from Boulevard... Now those have all dried up-- you can't find Saison Brett, BBQ, or Rye on Rye any longer and it makes me a sad panda.

Otherwise, the selection is about the same as the Delocke's in Munster only it is smaller here. The store is also very warm inside, well above normal room temp, which I see as a negative.
The employees don't seem to care about beer too much except that it is an item they sell for profit. If asked "do have any (insert limited beer name here)?" the reply is almost always a generic, "it's all gone but we should get more next week..." It never comes though of course.

If you're coming from out of state, it isn't a bad store to hit up, but don't expect too many gems. The proximity to FFF (about 10 min away) is the best feature of this store.
Please don't get me wrong here, this isn't a terrible place to stop, but it is far from the best in the area.

Stopped by here while in town for Dark Lord Day. They had a decent selection including bottles from Three Floyds (that were guaranteed fresh), Upland (including a couple Lambics by the register), Crooked Tree, etc. Be sure to check the case by the counter for some rarer offerings, I picked up a Hair of the Dog Adam and there were some Upland Lambics in there too. This was one of the more productive beers stops while in town as I was able to get most of the three floyds stuff I was looking before Dark Lord Day. Definitely worth the short drive if you are visiting Three Floyds.

This was just one of our beer runs while in the area for Dark Lord Day '11. It is a medium size store just down the street from 3 Floyd's and it had a decent selection of locals (particularly Three Floyds, Chicago locals, Flossmoor, etc...). Had questions about how fresh some of the 3F selections and were quickly informed that the beers were extremely fresh (delivered in 3-4 days of our arrival). The owner and his wife were very helpful and friendly. Not the largest selection that we saw in the area but a solid one at that, with exceptional service!

We stopped by this store on our way up to Chicago. It was a pleasant surprise. It doesn't look like much from the outside but their selection was very good and pretty inexpensive. They had FFF bombers for only $9.99 and a wide array of six packs and bombers. They also had a moderate amount of craft bombers in the cooler windows as well as in a small sliding door cooler. Their prices were around 50 cents cheaper than most other places, at least in Indy. The one thing I noticed was that they had a single bottle of Upland's Peach Lambic behind glass for $35. Are you kidding me? The most I've seen it for otherwise was $23. That's an insane markup! Otherwise, this store is a decent stop and probably has the best selection in the area.

Probably the most visited beer store in Indy due to its proximity to Three Floyds, I had the opportunity to stop one late afternoon. Many Three Floyds offerings were there which was a plus, but it seemed there were quite a few beers from smaller breweries missing.... something I always look for in traveling. This also effected their singles selection, as those beers were not there in the first place. Prices were reasonable and the quality of the beers were consistent with a good beer store if not a little better. I will stop here again if in the area, but it seems I can get a more broad selection elsewhere in Chicago or Indy.

This place has beer from Three Floyds that Three Floyds doesn't even have. Just picked up a bottle of Brian Boru on my way home after hoping to sample it at Three Floyds last weekend but was dissapointed they no longer carried it. I'm kind of new to this whole beer tasting thing seeing how i'm only 22 but i can see this place being my Disneyland based on how pathetic other liquor stores in the area are. So in closing if you like good beer then i totally reccomend this place. It makes it even better that I can get a good steak right next door at Texas Corral

By far the best craft beer selection in northwest indiana and most of the chicago southland area. The next closest liquor store that even comes close to their selection of craft beers is binny's in orland park. Everyone working there is very helpful and knows a suprising amount about craft beers. Even get limited productions like hopslam and KBC. Prices are average, compare to any other bigger store such as binnys. If you get there when the older indian dude is working you can talk to him about what things he can special order for you.

Made my way out to Indiana to visit 3 Floyds, saw this on beerfly, saw that I was severely lacking in Stone beer and decided that this was the place to find it. Easy place to find thankfully, no one needs to drive around Indiana needlessly.

Walked in to the beer stacked up on the right. Lots and lots of Stone, almost a full line up I'd say and what was nicer was seeing that basically every bomber the store carried could also be found in coolers in the back of the store. Few from Upland, Steel Head, some other locals that I can't find in Illinois.

This is not a big store, which is nice because it seems like the bottles get turned around pretty quick here. I didn't see very many, if any, bottles covered in dust. So they at least keep the beer in pretty decent condition here, which is nice to see. Nothing is really lost in the shuffle. Not much of an import selection but that's not what I came here for, I suppose this would be a bit more bothersome if you lived in the area and wanted a wider selection of such things, but I am spoiled so I can't really complain about that particular lack of selection.

Overall I'd say this is a generally good store. Friendly service, even if a bit hands off, good selection, reasonable prices, and best of all, no Cook County sales tax!

This is a Very good liquor store considering the area I live in. I always thought it was just an average run of the mill liqour store whenever I'd drive by it, but thanks to seeing the reviews on BA I figured I'd give it a go.

Quality-5.0 I say this because northwest Indiana has soo many shitty liqour stores in hammond , highland , gary... etc but this one had a lot to choice from and the doors were even electric, classy.

Service- Didn't get any help, but I expect that pretty average. But i'm sure if I did ask I'd get a good response, the lady seemed knowlegable about my purchases (behemoth (fff), Rabbid Rabit (fff), and the goose island IPA)

Awesome selection of beer! They have almost anything you'd imagine from three floyds, and all the goose island is already cold! I'm in heaven. Plus sierra nevada stout and many imports. A whole 40 foot long wall is dedicated to warm bombers and 6 packs. I didn't know this existed in northwest Indiana, Haha

This place can be a little costly if you buy the expensive stuff. Of course they have all the miller/bud bullshit , but a good six pack will run you about 8 and a bomber about 8-10 (the behemoth from three floyds cost me 16 though. I am very excited about that one)

If you're a fan of good beer and live in the 219, give this place a try, and bring about 50 dollars to ensure you're trying the best.

Stopped in on my way up to DLD as locals had mentioned this was a good place to score 3F's. I was in pursuit of Oatgoop, and called ahead to confirm they had it. After relaying what I was looking for, the man on the other end of the line set the phone down, i'm assuming to go look at the shelves. Here's where this place won my business and respect: The phone got hung up. We've all been there, on hold and it goes dead. Well, not two minutes later, they called back. That's a class act.

The gentlemen was very helpful, and even addressed me as sir the entire conversation. When I arrived, it looked like, well, a liquor store. But as you walk in, the entire left wall is craft and import beer. Quite a selection, certainly 20x more than you would expect looking from the outside. Got my 3F's, got some Upland beers (no lambic tho) and a couple others. Most anything you would find at your best beer store in town, you would find here. Certainly a standout store for the area.

This is a must stop for the Craft Beer lover when you're just passing through the area. I was visiting family from Kentucky (where Roof Brothers in Paducah is my mainstay beer store) and this store measures up with beers not found back in Kentucky -- like Schlitz Gusto (the bottled 60s formula), Dark Horse and Founder's from Michigan, a variety of Indiana brewers (like Three Floyds and Upland), in addition to your mainstays like Stone (bombers and six packs) and Victory (Prima Pils, Hopdevil, Hop Wallop), Of course, they also sell Bell's (Hopslam, etc.) and Goose Island Bourbon County Stout in the 4 packs. Prices are fair and the service is OK, too. I really like this place. I just wish Indiana would do something about its Blue Laws and sell beer on Sundays -- like its neighbors across the state line in Illinois. Heck, even Kentucky, which is dry on Sundays, makes exceptions for the northern Kentucky counties just south of Cincinnati. If they can sell beer on Sundays, why can't Lake and Porter County in Indiana. Oh well, sorry for my rant. Anyway, Check this place out if in the area, You won't be disappointed.

I visited this place on 1/22/2009.

Parking was plentiful and conveniently right in front of the store. As you enter and walk straight forward, you find yourself in the craft beer section. This consists of one long wall to the left with open shelving and a few stacks of cased beer on the right. There are just 2-3 coolers of cold beer located further in the back.

The selection was decently good for the size of the store, with plenty to choose from (Bell's, FFF, New Holland, Unibroue, Stone, Dark Horse, Founder's, etc). There were also a decent amount of imports (lots of Weihenstaphaner and Samuel Smith's and six packs of Fullers).

Prices were OK, about average or just a touch higher but all within reason.

Service was OK too, they seemed friendly and fairly knowledgable.

Overall a solid little place and one I will gladly visit when I am in the area.

This liquor store is near my home town of Munster, IN and more importantly home to Three Floyds. The place is housed in a store that was once part of a chain called Delock's Liquors but this venue carries a wider variety of micro and craft beer than their former owners. The best aspect is the wide selection Three Floyds, Founders, Bells, Arcadia, New Holland, and Dark Horse. The imports are well above average for the region but nothing insane compared to the selections available in PA or NJ or Chicago for that matter. The service is friendly but don't add anything to my shopping experience. In fact they may distract you, I was unfamiliar with Wild Blue and I over heard the clerk telling another customer that it is one of the best beers on the shelf. Well, you know how this ends. Again, go here if passing through and you need some good selection of MW craft beers at a reasonable price.

Also a nice selection of Midwestern breweries like Founders, Bell's and Dark Horse.

Seem to have a decent selection of imports but this was not of intetrest to me so....

A friendly hello on our way in with a can I help you and a nice chat as we checked out. Nothing crazy but certainly not rude or stand-offish.

Had to stop here on a trip to Three Floyds, and glad I did. The quality was good, clean and well-lit, and the service wasn't there, but then I didn't really ask any questions. The selection, though, was outstanding. Tons of European beers, including oddball Belgians and others like Mikkeller and Nogne O. The selection of American beers was also very good, lots of Avery, Three Floyds, and even a better selection of Michigan beers than I'm used to. The pricing was in the average/high range, but well worth it for some of the better beers. This will be a future stop whenever I'm in the area.

stopped in here during a trip to Three Floyd's brewpub from Chicago. the selection is pretty standard for a decent liquor store, with some selections not available in Illinois, which is why we stopped.

quality is good. no dust on any bottles, and orderly conditions. mostly six packs of micros, with some singles of imports. all standard offerings at best, with nothing out of the ordinary (except for a good selection of Stone).

service is lacking a bit. expect to find good brews on your own, without much help from staff.

selection is good. for a beer stop, this one is pretty standard, with a few offerings exclusive to Indiana, but not much to write home about.

overall, stop in here if it is on your way, but no need to make a special trip.

Plenty of microbrews to go around including Three Floyds, Bell's, Stone, pretty much every Unibroue, and many other German, Belgian, English, Scottish imports. Both times I have been there the (presumed) owner of the store has asked me if I needed any help and gladly answered any questions I had. The prices are a bit higher than the place closest to me, Pat's Liquors, but not by too much. I think a bottle of Behemoth was a dollar more here. We hit this place up for a quick post DLD stop on the way out of town. I had heard that this was probably the best place in the immediate area to pick up Three Floyds beers and I was not disappointed. They had plenty of Dreadnaught, Behemoth, Brian Boru, and Broodoo bombers, as well as six-packs of Alpha King, Pride & Joy, Robert the Bruce, and Gumball Head. The fun didn't end with Three Floyds though, as they also had a ton of quality Midwestern beers from the likes of Bell's, Dark Horse, and Founders, just to name a few. They even carried some bottles from Warbird Brewing in Fort Wayne, so it was nice to see another local Indiana brewery being carried down in this corner of the state. I had been to 4 store before stopping here. HOLY SH!T, BELL'S!!! Ok they had Bell's, Dark Horse, Three Floyds, and a bunch of other brands. I went there pretty late and no one was in there except me, my girl, the kid helping me and an older guy behind the register.

I asked for help packing some boxes since what I was buying was traveling 1000+ miles to the home base. He got me some boxes, helped me pack them and helped make sure they got out to my car without getting wet (it was raining a bit).

I was also helped finding the remaining Dreadnaught IPA they had [since I was cleaning every store out of this beer on my way through].

I also ten minutes of very friendly banter with the old guy about beer. For a Boston kid these were ultra friendly people. It was my pleasure to give them my business. next year on my trip to Dark Lord Day I will make this a required stop!

All in all between how friendly the guys there were and the service and selection I would have to say this is an awesome place to bet your brews!!!

I always make it a point to stop here whenever I visit my girlfriend since she lives rather close, and it has a good amount of beers that I can't find around South Bend. They have a lot of Belgians, as I found some samichlaus (which is Austrian but still), all 3 Chimay's, St. Bernadus, Rochefort 10, Duvel, and Westmalle Trippel and Dubbel. They also have a lot of 3F's that I don't find anywhere else such as the Black Sun Stout and Munsterfest since they are so close to the brewery. They always have a lot of Bell's too as they had Kalamazoo, Expedition, Java, Cherry, Sparkling Ale, Third Coast Ale, 2 Hearted, and Double Cream Stout. Overall, I really like this liquor store for beer and try to stop by as much as possible. They also do a good job of keeping a lot of the smaller Indiana breweries stocked up as well.
