12oz 9% abv 2018 can release poured into a short stange glass shows a headless murky, muddy, chocolate brown and leaves erratic lacing.
Bourbon aromas including oak, molasses, raisin, char, and booze form a strong invitation and follow into the flavors supporting caramel, roasty malt and chocolate notes.
Mouthfeel is just short of creamy, more than expected for a porter, and a pleasant surprise.
Overall a very nice, clean porter that shows off the bourbon well.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 1/20/16, had 3/13.
Pours a near black, mostly opaque, with not much of a head nor lacing. Smell is malt, bourbon, rye, vanilla, some oak and chocolate. The taste pretty much follows the nose with the malt, bourbon, rye and vanilla. More oak than the nose, more chocolate as well. Light caramel. Really smooth, good body, the taste lingers.
Very enjoyable, there's lots of flavor, the double barrel aging is done very well. Also very drinkable. Big effort from IO, with a tough style to barrel age well. One more bottle, we'll let it go a few more months.
