really excellent coffee beer here, done with espresso from que, preferable for me to their other coffee version of this, and way ahead of the curve on coffee stout in general! never had anything but wild beer from these guys i dont think, nice to see how dialed in they are on these clean beers too! medium brown shade to this one, not super dark or thick for a stout, but the nose is just exploding with all the nuance of a quality shot of espresso. from dried blueberry to creamy chocolate and ashy char, its just deep and complex, amazing in a lighter stout where the darker malts never quite get bitter so the coffee can really stand out, smart grain bill on this one. i get some sweetness in the coffee too, a toffee note, buttercream, and almond, really nice complexity yet the beer overall seems simple, i love that. smooth and drinkable, low coffee acidity, and a perfect dose of it. its not as carbonated as it could be, and that hurts it just a little bit, it also doesnt seem particularly cold from the tap at the brewery, which is weird, but maybe allows it to be all opened up and maxed out right away, just is weird. awesome beer overall, the better of the two in my opinion, and i continue to enjoy every single beer i have had from these guys so far!

On tap at the brewery in Niwot. Black color, decent head. The aroma is very nice, load of delicious coffee. The flavor follows suit and is a nice coffee stout. Worth going back for.
