Overall a good version of the style. Light pale malt, reminds me of yeast rolls a bit. Moderately bitter hops, some earthiness and some ester notes. Good carbonation. Copper hues with a foamy white head. The only thing I don’t like is there’s an odd aroma, kind of like a musty basement.

Purchased as a 22oz draft pour from One World West. Poured into a pint mug.
L - Dark burnt orange, with no head. Solid lacing. Hazy.
S - Brown bread crust. Toffee. Not too much else at play.
T - Follows nose closely. Balanced. On the drier end of the spectrum. Hinting at an earthy note. Mineral finish.
F - Medium in body, with mild carbonation. Easy-to-drink.
O - Pretty average ESB. Nothing to complain about, but it doesn't exactly leave an impression. Bread crust notes are pretty heavy, but it's overall on the watery side. It's like if you took the water from the French Broad River, and made it into a lightly-malted brew. I suppose if you just want a beer, this could be a go-to. If you want an ESB, you're better off with something else. Probably won't get this one again, but it wasn't terrible.

Had this on tap at an Asheville restaurant. Poured into a pint glass. Nice reddish brown color with excellent foamy head and good curtain lacing. Decent toffee and caramel smell and taste. The taste is better than the smell. Some banana notes come in as it warms. Don’t see many ESBs and overall this isn’t bad.

On tap. Pour dark amber with off white head. Aroma is of caramel malt earthy hops and ripe fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is similar to aroma. Long dry finish. Nice brew.
