A-The Woodshed is a large indoor/outdoor venue located on the Trinity River in Ft. Worth near TCU. The patio overlooking the river is big, pretty cool, and the vibe is laid back as you might expect from a mostly-outdoor BBQ joint. Think picnic tables and smoked meats. There is a concert stage, but I did not see any music when I visited on two occasions.

Q-The beers on tap were decent, but not mind-blowing. Larger-name craft brands and a few local Texas options made up the majority of the list. The beers were served in plastic, solo-type cups, which is not ideal, but I understand the decision given the outdoor location and BBQ ambiance.

Ser-The first night I visited, our service was crappy. The bartender was rude, unhelpful, and didn't know what he was talking about. I don't expect to discuss the finer points of Westy v. St. Bernardus at every bar I go to, but you can at least pretend like you want to take my money. Service on the second visit was much improved. The bartender had a much better attitude and gave prompt, relatively informed service.

Sel-The variety was pretty good relative to other Ft. Worth joints I visited, i.e., more than BMC and Shiner on tap. For example, I saw Odell, Oskar Blues, Sierra Nevada, and a few Texas options. The tap selection was befitting of the hot Texas climate, so I cannot be overly critical of the fact that 17 out of 22 taps were some sort of IPA or lighter blonde beer.

V-Beer prices were reasonable, but pours were small.

O-Despite the bad service one night, I enjoyed my time at the Woodshed. The outdoor ambiance was top-notch and craft selection was above-average.
