Inspired by the Orphic bone tablets which explore the dichotomous nature of life and death, our Bone Tablet series reveals the many sides of the IPA. Transmigration of Souls is an irresponsibly hopped Double IPA, bursting with life from an absurd amount of aromatic hops. You’ll experience a bouquet of orange, lemon, and tropical fruit sitting on top of a clean, dry malt body.

Food pairing
Transmigration of Souls is very overpowering; just pair it with another Transmigration of Souls. If you must eat, Transmigration of Souls is bold and dry, with an abundance of tropical fruit. It will pair well with spicy food.

Composition
Hops: Azacca, Lemon Zest, Apollo, Wakatu
Grain: Two row barley, white wheat
Fermentation: American Ale yeast

Look: Pours a light orange shade of golden yellow with a semi-coarse, sudsy and thick, off white/beige head of foam. Lively carbonation visible through the glass. Leaves very little lacing, excellent head retention though.

Aroma: Rolled oats/granola. Whole grain bread. Marshmallow. Burnt lemon peel. Grapefruit candy. Banana foster. Orange marmalade. Luxardo cherries. Rye whiskey. Roasted peanuts. Cotton candy. Pear cider. Caramel apple. Dried vanilla beans. Resinous and spicy superglue/candlewax note to it. Really, really complex and wonderful nose to this.

Taste:
Sweet potato french fries/ potato chips (yep), granola bars, dehydrated orange slices, porridge, guava, dried cherries, marzipan. Dry and malty backend of lightly toasted whole grain bread. Very dry ... despite being malty one of the more unique times I've ever experienced this. A touch of pear juice way in the foreground. Sweet but finishes very dry, despite being malt forward. Sunflower seeds / cashew .... grapefruit preserves note to the finish... really an interesting flavor.

Feel:
Resinous. Thick. Heavy but not sticky or syrupy. Dry. Moderate carbonation.

Overall:
A very, very interesting beer. Lives up to the name.

My first beer from Orpheus. I've heard great things about them and I was not disappointed. Worked my way through a sixer of this over the course of about a week and a half.

Wasn't impressed at first, until I got about half way through the six pack - I gradually started to like it more and more.

Very complex. Hard to experience everything it has to offer in one tasting. Multiple cans & time in between tastings required to experience the beers full potential. A type of beer where a palate reset is needed.

This is a beer where you really need to take your time drinking it. Not what I would call a beginner - or even an intermediate friendly IPA... you certainly need a few notches on your belt (both good and bad notches/experiences with beer) to truly appreciate this.

Very heavy and resiny. There’s some citrusy notes in there. It doesn’t hide its high ABV very well. It’s just…okay. Definitely not great but complex enough to be better than the average. I appreciate it but will likely share the rest and not buy again.

Had on draft 12/1/22 @ No Quarter.

Semi-opaque orange appearance.

Nice white head; thick tree-rung lace.

Fruit punch, fresh ganja & spring water notes in the nose. Smells great!

Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Dank ganja, fruit punch & booze heat flavors.

The nose promised nirvana, but the taste was a too dank & boozy. It'll make you feel good, though...

Golden straw color. Nose is slightly hoppy, but not as much as you might expect from a double IPA. Very smooth feel. Notes of apple and citrus with some maltiness and well-balanced hops.

Going into this one - with the beer at 10% - I’m thinking Shaq - large and in charge, freaky sexy, and bad to the bone. And when I drink it…? Nah, this one isn’t the Big Diesel, but it’s still not bad. Definitely not Kobe (RIP). But think of Robert Horry on a hot 3 point streak. He’s sizzling, but he’s also so cool that he doesn’t burn. Like this beer. Transmigration of Souls.

Eat your veggies, my children. Don’t let them eat you.

L-Pours a copper colored semi hazy bodied beer with a nice lively and rocky head that is a bit lacy in nature.
S-There's a strong note of malt right up front. Sweet, with notes of apple, apricot, brown sugar and molasses. A bit of a buttery caramelized sugar aroma as well. Very nice.
T-Sweet and bitter up front. Notes of apple juice and some stone fruit. Maybe some raison there. Maybe some tropical fruits there, too.
F-Dry finish. Works well.
O-I really enjoyed this beer. It's definitely a sipper, but it isn't too much. Very much enjoyed.

Haven't had a transmigration in a while... A local brewery and one of my faves
Pours hazy golden color with a head that settles to a thin ring of lacy goodness.
Citrus aroma with slight breadiness
Taste the malts with citrusy goodness of the hops, but not overbearing. It's suprising its a 10%; not boozy at all.
I love the balance of this beer with just enough carbonation, nice mouthfeel, not too dank or resiny but all around great!

I am not sure why its been so long since I had this beer. It won't be long for the next, however.

Drinking this at a friend's house.
Poured from a can into a pint glass.
Looks hazy golden yellow with a nice white foamy head that dropped quickly to a thin ring.
Smells lightly bready, citrusy grapefruit orange.
Taste follows the nose nicely with plenty of citrusy hops, not boozy at all.
Mouth feel is medium plus for the style.
Overall a very nice IPA that I would definitely want to drink again.
Cheers!
