Pours a pitch black color with a thin foamy head. Head retention is minimal. Lacing is very good. Sour aroma with some dark fruits. Red wine? Very tart and taste up front, followed by red wine and a lot of sourness at the end. Almost gets into your nose. Light bodied with mild carbonation.

An excellent beer for the senses! Beautiful dark purplish color with good initial head of beige and good lacing. Smell of red wine, cherries and burnt oak. Flavors of dark wine, blackberries with a sour backdrop. Interesting malty finish. Overall pretty good.

I love a good Dunkelweizen and a good sour (esp. spontaneously fermented), so I was looking forward to this one. Nice and dark, very dry, with no Dunkelweizen character. Plenty of vinegary sourness with a lack of funk.
