Poured cold into a Sam Adams lager glass.
I really liked the color - reddish/brown, clear. Decent head, lasted a while, a little lacing on the glass.
The nose - just a hint of the spices - ginger and cinnamon right away and something else I couldn't figure out. Nutmeg or cardamom maybe? Nice hit of orange aroma as well.
Thought the taste was pretty bold. I have had this every year they have made it and maybe my CRS syndrome is kicking in, but seemed a lot more flavorful - maybe just thinking critically about it. The spices are not overwhelming, just a touch of orange/citrus taste, but kind of acidic with a little bitter on the end. I liked it less the warmer it got - to me the mouth feel changed and it started leaving more aftertaste and coated the tongue.
Like it, will buy it again next year.
