A- Pours crystal clear dark orange fading into mahogany. A full finger of clumpy bubbles on the top reminds me of the surface of the moon. Some carbonation visible rising up from the bottom of the pint.
S- A bit spicy over lots of malt. I can smell straw, dark soft wheat bread. Spices are muted but present- allspice combined with an old clove studded orange.
T- More cinnamon in the taste which is a happy surprise. Some earthy bitterness on the corners of my tongue- the wintery hops are staying on the shelves of the root cellar I suppose.
M- Fairly easy drinking but overly light.
D- Simple but good. Too much alcohol for a long session, but perhaps good for a shorter warming session in front of the fire with a good book.
