On-tap for a ridiculous amount of money at SFO, but sometimes you gotta give in and pay it.
A: Vibrant orange reddish amber color; perfectly clear with a good stream of bubbles flowing through it. Thin off-white head atop the beer, a thinner coating of it remains for a long time.
S: Rather mild grainy, bready aroma with a light, crisp fruity sweetness. As the beer warmed, the grain smell actually intensified and overwhelmed the others, making this more enjoyable at lower temperatures.
T: Crisp malty flavors throughout, with hints of sweetness and an indiscriminate bitterness to provide balance. Strange proportion of initial taste to finish– starts off very mild but finishes with strength.
M: Well carbonated, pretty thick for the style and abv; somewhat creamy and rather filling as a result.
O: A good beer for the first half of the glass, by the second half I was wishing I had something else. Worth a try especially since it's probably usually reasonably priced (but spend your airport dollars on the Sierra).
