A - Bright and colorful (what you'd expect from a summer drink), but also very cloudy. Relatively light carbonation; thick but short head.
S - A little citrus, but less than I expected.
T - Smooth, but nothing really stands out to me. Mild citrus - orange, maybe - very little sweetness, very little in the way of hops. Some slightly peppery spice. Some vanilla creaminess. Really, just very little...anything. No bad flavor, mind, but nothing stood out as dominant, and nothing really grabbed my attention.
M - Reasonably carbonated, not quite thick, but certainly not thin. Not unpleasant in the mouth, but the carbonation makes it not particularly pleasant, either.
O - This is not a bad beer, but following on the heels of Alpine Spring is tough. In fact, it looks, smells, and tastes like they removed 50% of the flavor from Alpine Spring and re-branded it as Summer Ale. I've tried it on tap from two different establishments this week, and the experience was the same. It makes a nice accompaniment with a meal, and it's better than standard macro fare, but not much.
Serving type: on-tap
