Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance - A nice deep golden color that forms a very nice white head that fades to give some decent lacing. While drinking the foam clings to the side of the glass. Quite nice for the style.
Smell - Mainly malty smells with a very slight amount of toasty sugar and caramel smell quickly following. Some nice hop of aroma then comes in toward the end with mainly citrus but a small amount of floral as well.
Taste - Malty breadiness first meets the tongue followed quickly by a caramel like sweetness. A bit of hoppiness then comes in but seems to be subdued again my the malty-caramel sweetness that was first present.
Mouthfeel - For the style this is nearly spot on. It is smooth and perfectly carbonated. Not to thick not too thin and very, very drinkable.
Overall - Who is to say that the flagship beers of large commercial breweries can't be good is really mistaken. Sam Adam's Boston lager is Fantastic!!
