From a brown 12oz into a Sam Adam's Perfect Pint glass. It pours a light amber with an eggshell colored, three-finger head. Very clear, good lacing.
The aroma is malty with a bready yeast character. Sweet, with caramel and floral hops.
A nice and refreshing light-medium body. Immediately malty and sweet with caramel up front. It quickly gives way to an oily, floral hop flavor that is more bitter than the aroma suggested. It finishes spicy, a bit dry, and lots of grain in the aftertaste.
It's a very good lager that is both malty and filled with hop flavor. It's not something I would seek out but it's great to see a good flavorful beer that is so widely available.
