Ah, one of the beers that helped father the American craft brew revolution.
Sam Adams Boston Lager pours superbly from its 12 oz bottle. Boston Lager is a somewhat crisp and clear beer, with a golden amber color. The head retains for a little bit; a bit longer that other lagers normally do. After taking several sips, a nice lace is left behind
This smells sweet and sour at the same time. The hops blended with the darkly toasted malt, is an uncommon blend for an American mainstream lager.
Boston Lager tastes very clean, and crisp. The hops are visibly noticed here. This is a very quenching beer.
This is richly carbonated, as are most beers within this family of yeast. There's no bitter aftertaste, just a hint of the esters is all that's left behind.
I could easily consume this, and go for another. It's nice to take a break from my favorite heavily hopped IPA and pale ales.
Cheers to the great Jim Koch on helping to encourage America's return to our beer roots.
