Poured from a bottle into a proper Sam Adams glass. The pour is crystal clear, golden-amber, and sports a majestic white head that demonstrates some good staying power and leaves behind some attractive lacing. The nose is nice and malty, but still manages to harbor some spicy herbal notes.
Well-balanced flavor with a firm feel, adequate body, and good complexity. Toast and malty notes up front are met by a generous hop addition that brings flavors of tea and lemon. The finish is dry enough to make the beer very refreshing.
Hardly anyone gets into craft beer without enjoying several of these along the way. One of the first hopped-up Vienna Lagers I enjoyed. I suppose a bit more malt character would make this beer match the style description a bit better, but who cares. Lots of flavor and an excellent balance make this a true American classic.

Appearance: Pretty clear with a nice lacing and decent sized head--somewhat light amber/light brown colored
Smell: Sweet and hoppy
Taste: Caramel-buttery, sweet malty flavor
Mouthfeel: Not quite heavily carbonated but somewhat heavy feeling in the mouth
Overall: Delicious, refreshing, not too light--but decent and somewhat heavy, overall flavor is smooth and has hints of sweet malty flavor

Large fluffy head with good lacing. The head sticks around for a long time. Beautiful light copper colored beer. Very clear. Moderate carbonation with large bubbles.
Hops are dominant. Some malt sweetness in the background.
Tastes like it smells, but with a slightly harsh bitterness to the finish. There is just something about the flavor profile that I don't like. It is too harsh for the style. It tastes like the ingredients are good quality. It just comes across as unpleasantly harsh on the finish.
Medium bodied. Good mouthfeel, but that weird lingering harshness detracts from the experience.
This is a pretty good beer that for some reason just doesn't sit right with my palate.
