Poured from a bottle with best by March 2011 notched in label.
Appearance: Frothy white head and an iced tea color with slight ruby hues. Vibrant carbonation. Very nice lacing.
Smell: Very nice floral hops smell with a bit of sweetness and roasted malt.
Taste: Crisp, roasted malts with a touch of spice and a very nice hops middle and finish.
Mouthfeel: A little bit watery for a lager, but still has a touch of creaminess. The hops and alcohol provide a bite but don't create excessive dryness.
Drinkability: The best beer available at your local Applebee's, and one of the most important craft beers in America. I've pounded my share of Sam Adams at airports across the nation. It's a staple and go-to for those who respect beer when you have a limited selection, and all for good reason. A very drinkable lager that is satisfying both in taste and in tradition.
