Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a light amber/ copper color with a decent head and good lacing.
S: Hops, caramel, and grains.
T: Starts off with a spicy hop twang followed by caramel malts and toasty grains, cracker and biscuit like. The hops reassert themselves a bit towards the end along with the malt.
M: Light body with decent carbonation and a little dry in the finish. Crisp.
Overall: A very enjoyable lager. Nice flavors, well balanced and drinkable. A very good gateway beer.

Poured into a snifter.
Appearance: Clear; light amber in color. Not much head. Some lacing.
Smell: I pick up mainly malts; very clean overall.
Taste: Malts come through with a smooth lager taste. Light hops back it up. Semi-dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Light; low carbonation.
Overall: A very sessionable lager, just not much there. Still, a step up from the regular BMC selections. A great stepping stone to more flavorful Sam Adams offerings.

Bottle poured into pint.
A: Clear amber with a two finger white head that develops into rocky white islands. Good lacing.
S: Lots of caramel and a tinge of hops.
T: This is a really malt-forward beer with a lot of caramel and toffee upfront. The noble hops come in about halfway through and aren't too assertive. Aftertaste is bitter and hoppy, but again, not too bad.
M: Creamy, medium-bodied, with the carbonation maybe helping out to balance the hops at the end.
O: This one is an American classic. Well-rounded, balanced, and sessionable. For most BMC drinkers that turn into craft beer drinkers, this is one of the gateways. Cheers!
