A great beer from the largest American brewer that brews its own...

Pours with a full head that sticks around a while.

Smell and taste of hops and slightly tea-ish with a hint of herb.

Mouth feel is nice and smooth. Not too hard or creamy.

Could hold it own against many imports.

Nice.

Great copper orange color that develops a good head of thick bubbles when poured in the center of a pint glass. Yeasty maltiness and some good hop scents jump from the glass. Good refreshing carbonation. This one is a great standby and will always satisfy. This is about the only lager that I enjoy. Good example of the Samuel Adams lineup.

Bottle from a winter mixer poured into a Perfect Pint Glass. Has a Best By date of March 2012.

Very pretty copper color with a thing white head. Thin layer sticks around the middle of the surface because of the laser etching. The bubbles rising up from the bottom are enthralling.

Started right out of the fridge with a distinct "beer" smell that reminded me of college - that isnt meant as a compliment, but it isnt a total dig either; it was a memory inducing smell. Sweet malty smell shows up as it warms a bit, nothing too strong. European grassy hops are evident and not overwhelming.

Tastes are not terribly different from the smell. Tasty sweet malted barley, European hops.

It has a nice smooth texture, but at the same time has good carbonation.

I love Sam Adams, even if I dont drink it as often as I used to. It reminds me of why I love beer, and particularly why I love BETTER beer.

Cheers.

Ah Boston Lager, this beer has saved me in more dive bars than I can count. Not the greatest, but not bad in a pinch... be it a dive bar, bbq, or baseball game.

Pours a bright orange copper color, perfect clarity and saturated tone. Creamy, fluffy head of foam at first that dwindles after 10 minutes or so. Plenty of lace in the glass, and a thin skim eventually.

Smells slightly sweet, toasty and biscuity. Lightly fruity apple and pear notes slide in too.

Flavors are similar, some bready malt sweetness, fruity yeast. Feels a bit more full bodied than many lagers. Lingering toastiness with a slight floral hop note. Little to no hop bitterness present. Easy to have a couple with food. A pretty versatile, above average lager.

Pours an amber color with a one finger head that sticks around with decent lacing. Aroma of caramel malts with a decent hop aroma. Taste follows the nose great balance between sweetness and bitterness. Crisp and clean, this is a refreshing, highly drinkable brew. It's nothing mind blowing but it's a good all around beer
