Poured into a tulip glass. Pitch black in color with a large, thick brown colored head that laces the glass.
The only thing I'm getting from the beer is a strong aroma of ginger and a sweet soy sauce aroma. Some nice Asian notes, but somehow I don't think that's what they were going for.
Interesting flavors that continue from the aroma. There is a noticeable ginger taste throughout. The initial malt is sweet and a little bit of roast and chocolate but it is very tame. More of the roasted and chocolate notes come out in the finish with a lingering ginger in the background.
Smooth and creamy feel to it. Maybe a little bit chalky, but for the most part it has a good feel to it.
For a Christmas offering it's pretty decent. The ginger might be a little much for my taste though.
