Appearance: Black color with a creamy/foamy tan head; ample lacing.
Smell: Sweet, spicy, and yeasty--not too strong.
Taste: Sweet malts up front but resolves to a roasty finish. Some spices in the middle; not too much gingerbread flavor (very faint in the middle).
Mouthfeel: A bit thick and coating.
Overall: A decent holiday beer although for something advertised as a gingerbread stout, I was looking for more gingerbread flavor. The malt seems to cover up the spices a little bit. Comparable to a decent pumpkin beer.
Serving type: bottle
