From the 650 ml. bottle. 2013 batch. Sampled on December 18, 2013.
It pours a very dark brown to nearly black with a full, lingering soft tan head. I love heady dark beers.
The aroma is a versatile collection of gingerbread, Christmas spices like nutmeg and cinnamon, dark sweet malts, molasses, and the slightest of earthy hops. Booze? None.
Medium to full body.
I like the nutmeg, cinnamon and bakery spiciness that makes up the character of the taste. Dark sweet malts are there but more subtle. Decent earthy hop bitterness that pulls up from behind. The alcohol is well-integrated but I would still define this one as a sipper.
