Presented in a 12oz bottle as part of the S.A. Brewmaster's Summer Collection. Edge of the label bears a mark indicating an Oct 07 "best before" date.
Appearance: clear dark golden hue topped with a lumpy white head that left modest streaks of lace as it receded.
Smell: decent doughy malt notes mixed with cherry aroma. Has a soft wheaty undertone.
Taste: ugh, what happened?! Immediate blast of syrupy sweet cherry flavor that quickly took on a slightly metallic and strongly medicinal cough syrup flavor. A bit cloying and altogether too close to cough syrup.
Feel: medium-bodied, well carbonated.
Drinkability: sorry, but not very drinkable, at least for me. I didn't appreciate the metallic wang and the general impression was that I was taking down a spoonful of Robitussin with every pull from my pint glass. Nothing here that I'm eager to revisit anytime soon.
Serving type: bottle
