Samuel Adams Cold Snap
Enjoyed on tap at Red Robin... Went with the 22 oz happy hour special. Arrived in an oversized SA perfect pint glass. I didn't know this glassware came in this size... Anyhow, this was served cold.
A) Golden amber in color. Quite hazy as you'd expect. Perhaps a finger of soapy looking head, which settled pretty quickly to a collar. A bit of lacing at the top of the glass.
S) An aroma of wheat and sweet naval oranges, light citrus rind, and some spice. Hint of coriander.
T) Follows the nose... Enjoyable sweet citrus flavor, with crisp wheat, and a bit of yeast in the flavor. The spices don't overpower.
M) Lighter medium body with relatively crisp carbonation, and yet a rather creamy texture.
O) Nice drinkability... I don't drink Blue Moon often, but this was somewhat similar. Probably a nice intro beer. More than anything, I felt compelled to order this, given the temperature outside was 9 below zero. No regrets... It was pretty darn good.
Paired with a delicious cheeseburger and bottomless fries...

This beer poured a hazy orange color with a small white head. There was a bit of lace.
A peppery, spicy nose. Maybe a little citrus?
Taste of pepper and coriander. And yes, some orange.
This beer didn't really do anything for me. Thin, not much to it.
At $2.99 for a bomber, I thought it was a good price. It just isn't a very good beer.

The notches on the label tell me this 12 ounce bottle will be filled with "brewery fresh beer" until April of this year.
Pours heavily clouded, dull darker apricot. Sturdy and lasting off white head. Lace left behind is thicker and mostly slippery.
Floral nose with some light pepper, oranges and cream-sicle notes.
Pretty flavorful white brew, with a distinct mineral note. Also more orange, more lite pepper and in general showing a zesty and crisp character and mouth feel.
Not bad, quite easy drinking and gong nicely with salad, nuts and goat cheese. Respectable seasonal from SA

Appearance: high carbonation, 1/4 inch head, hazy, gold in color
Smell: tangerine and peach
Taste: tangerine, apricot, wheat, and peach
Mouthfeel: sweet with light bitterness, light body, high carbonation
Overall: Not usually a fan of Sam Adams witbiers, but I found this one to be very drinkable and better than most. Refreshing and clean, it may be my favorite in this year's spring variety pack.
