Consumed February 13th, 2014 at P.F. Chang's, Santa Monica, CA.
Beer is presented in a tall pilsener glass with frost around the bottom rim. Cloudy medium yellow with a fine, one-finger white head. Excellent lacing though not much head left.
Aroma is lemon zest and a little grass.
Flavor is very malty: wheat and crystal/caramel malt flavors. Odd for the style, but not bad. A citric bite on the finish. Very low bitterness. Malt finish lingers with a touch of corn. Sort of unbalanced and awkward overall.
Medium mouthfeel, some carbonation tingle on the tongue.
Not sure what BBC was going for here, but it's not a good example of the witbier style. It's not bad, but it's a bit macro tasting, especially on the finish. Don't think I'll be having this one again.

This beer poured a hazy orange color with a small white head. There was a bit of lace.
A peppery, spicy nose. Maybe a little citrus?
Taste of pepper and coriander. And yes, some orange.
This beer didn't really do anything for me. Thin, not much to it.
At $2.99 for a bomber, I thought it was a good price. It just isn't a very good beer.

The notches on the label tell me this 12 ounce bottle will be filled with "brewery fresh beer" until April of this year.
Pours heavily clouded, dull darker apricot. Sturdy and lasting off white head. Lace left behind is thicker and mostly slippery.
Floral nose with some light pepper, oranges and cream-sicle notes.
Pretty flavorful white brew, with a distinct mineral note. Also more orange, more lite pepper and in general showing a zesty and crisp character and mouth feel.
Not bad, quite easy drinking and gong nicely with salad, nuts and goat cheese. Respectable seasonal from SA

Appearance: high carbonation, 1/4 inch head, hazy, gold in color
Smell: tangerine and peach
Taste: tangerine, apricot, wheat, and peach
Mouthfeel: sweet with light bitterness, light body, high carbonation
Overall: Not usually a fan of Sam Adams witbiers, but I found this one to be very drinkable and better than most. Refreshing and clean, it may be my favorite in this year's spring variety pack.
