Chose this one 1st out of the sampler pack (Aug2014) because I found the blonde brewer on the bottle a bit cute... Not bad at the end of the bottle. Citrus was light and not over powering. I would share with my neighbor....

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 8/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hops, pineapple, and moderate pale malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of citrus hops, pineapple, and moderate pale malt sweetness; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice fruited IPA. All around good balance and complexity of citrus hop, pineapple, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

poured into a pint glass

A- pours a clear golden color with a small white foamy head that reduces to a small cap, leaving no lace behind

S- subtle citrusy hop aroma with some spicy character, sugary sweet malt & pineapple juice

T- trying to find any hop bitterness up front is a chore, it's more sweet and malty than anything. As is nears the finish it tastes like a mixture of grapefruit juice and pineapple juice, with a slight citrusy hop bitterness on a sweet and sugary finish

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy and crisp mouthfeel with a sweet and bubbly finish

O- It's hard to call this an IPA because the hops just simply aren't there. It is however very drinkable and is a decent option for a summer day

I purchased this as part of the mixed longshot sixer enjoyed chilled in a willybecker.

A deep caramel color with hazed clarity and thick white head that collapses quickly with average bead and has speckles of lace. The smell is lightly fruity with slightly sweet aroma and gentle caramel-like candy edge with slight tropical fruitiness. There is a moderately carbonated feel with mild sweet middle and light fruity texture and mostly dry finish which is clean for the most part.

Taste is pretty light with fruit flavor and low bitterness with moderately sweet flavor in the middle with very mild pineapple if it is even there ...mild caramel in the taste with a pretty dry finish w/ a low alcohol flavor in the general sense. Overall I think this is not bad, but not especially good hop-wise or pineapple coming through in this. I would say it is just okay in the sense it is drinkable but not living up to the description.
