Hazy wheaty off-yellow color with an initial crown of white. The head fell off and a glaze of foam remains on top.

Rubbery smoke, Germanesque wheat malt, and a wee bit of spice from the Saaz. Somewhat medicinal, but nice. Quaint aromas that don't take it too far. Simple.

Wet smokiness, tamed by the wheat malts, which factor in nicely. Saaz hop prickle, accentuated by clove esters. Maybe a hint of backing lemon. Somewhat sweet. Finishes with faint tartness, like white grape skins. Saaz hop, also, helps the release. Smoke really builds as the beer warms. Better dimension in the smoke than the nose could capture. No longer overly medicinal.

Powdery carb dries up a lighter body. Drinkability is great.

A reliable Grätzer. Good summertime enjoyment drinking.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass.

A hazy, straw color with about a one finger head that leaves some foamy lacing on the glass.

The aroma is a bit bready with an underlying char and a hint of lemon.

The taste is of smoky bitterness up front with some underlying sweetness and a lingering bitter and slightly astringent note.

The mouthfeel is quite nice with a bit of creaminess and plenty of carbonation.

Overall, there is less smoke coming through than I wad expecting although is is an interesting

Moderately hazy with a pale golden color. A half inch head of tightly woven foam rests on top,but most of it fades. A trace of Brussels lacing is present. Aroma of pale wheat with a slightly sweet faint overly ripe banana note. The flavor provides a nice burst of smokiness that dominates the front of the pale. You get a rush of pale wheat and then on the fade a deep campfire like smokey fade. I wish there was a bit of the smokiness in the aroma to join it as it catches you off guard. The body is light and crisp.

Clouded wheat beer, pours sunshine golden haze with a bright eggshell white head forming thick fine effervescent carbonation bubbles with speckled even layered lacing.

The aromatics bring out a nice tart lemon character with a bit of lactic acid almost greek yogurt like accent that I enjoy. Catching a touch of campfire and sharp wheat notes on the nose.

The flavor has a great lighter smoked character perfect summer beer to go with a smoke on the back porch in the summer. Rolling tartness, wheat notes, chalky yeast and finish of light smoked meat pair this with some cedar smoked salmon off the grill with some kind of grilled asparagus that would really produced some warped urine later on.

Mouthfeel dry finish mild acidity by no means overtly sour, tart lactic dry finish. I enjoy this texture on the palate sturdy carbonation carries it well alcohol is negligible incredibly easy drinking at 4.4% abv.

Overall, just imagine a summer light ale with mucho flavor, this is what we have here I hope Sam Adams takes some notes from this home brewer and releases something along these lines.

I love to see modern brewers doing very old or at least obscure styles, and this beer certainly fits in that not many would expect a hazy pale gold beer when hearing the word "smoke" in any variation referring to it. That's what I've got here, though, and with lots of brightness shining through the thick haze. The head only forms a thick layer on top of the beers, but it keeps. Less than a modicum of lacing tries to come down behind it.
Smoke is light in the aroma, but there, with lightly tart, lemony sort of notes. Malts are lightly bready with the wheat, not exceptionally dry but leaning that way with an almost vinous note. A bit of peach and pear, along with green apple, come in too. It ends up being more tart than anything, ultimately.
Smoke is stronger on the tongue, and tartness backs way down for an interesting sweetness. There's actually a hint of some heat lurking. It gives the impression, at one moment, of being almost sour, very meaty smoke comes in and rides into the finish, and a very interesting powdered sugar effect comes in off the sourness and overtakes it. All in all, I must say this is one of the most interesting and off-centered brews I've ever had.
The body is light but verges almost into medium territory, but doesn't quite. It shouldn't though, and the light body is one of the delightful oddities. It has a solid crispness, though it's not quite stolid to the end. It eases into the carbonation and levels out. Smoothness is moderate, not quite able to take full effect but pretty good.

Pale hazy gold, thin ring of white foam and a patchy skim across the top.

Slight smoke in the aroma, mellow and woody.

Taste is lightly crackery, mild wheat, lightly tart, mild smoke. It's ok, a little bland. Light bodied, the carbonation ebbs away fairly quickly. Overall it was worth a try, but a little too bland.
