Was excited to see this included in SA's winter pack. Pours thick black with a tan foamy head that dissipates relatively quickly. slight lacing on the glass. Smell is of sweet chocolate, roasted barley, slight hint of licorice, and slight hint of prunes/raisins. Taste is sticky sweet -- a combination of fruit and chocolate. Almost reminds me of raisinets, or more accurately, a chocolate covered cherry. Not sure if I would have more than 2 of these in a sitting, but good beer if you just want one on a winter day or perhaps to pair it with a nice slice of german chocolate cake.
