Good, not great. Sort of confusing.
I don't think bock is really the style to be going all-out chocolate on, in the first place. The bottle cost me $15, and I was left with a beer that seemed like a very odd fit.
The chocolate is indeed there. You can smell it and taste it. I think if this were a robust porter or something like that, it might have been delicious. But bocks are already so malty and sweet, it tasted very...odd. Needed some roast backbone to stand up to the chocolate flavors. And for a bomber like this, especially a bock, you'd really be expecting a more robust, higher ABV beer. Why not chocolate doppelbock?
