Appearance: Dark cola color with a beige head that thins out quickly.
Smell: Pleasantly sweet smells of chocolate and cherry, almost a maraschino cherry scent.
Taste: Roasted cocoa with a sweetness that doesn't tie into any one flavor. Just a general sweetness that seems artificial in taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body with just a tad of creaminess with a slightly dry finish.
Drinkability: Purchased in the Sam Adams Holiday Sampler. This brew doesn't come close to the Winter Lager, the other 'bock' in the box. There is a sweetness that is unbalanced by the other flavors...nothing steps in to counter or compliment the sweetness. Between the maraschino cherry and roasted cocoa, I keep thinking of cherry pipe tobacco while drinking this one.
