A- Pours black with a cocoa tinted finger and a half of head. This is really more the appearance of a stout. I'm not sure whether to give it credit for looking good or to take credit away for deceiving my eyes. Maybe I'll hold it at even. It is a "chocolate" bock after all, so a little chocolaty appearance can't hurt.
S- Smells of sweet milk chocolate. Very reminiscent of a Youngs Double Chocolate Stout- it's got that milkshake aroma that really makes you question what you thought a beer should smell like. A bit of roast and pumpernickel bread comes out as it warms up a scoach.
T= The taste is more complex but more watered down than the smell all at once. There's much less milk chocolate, although still present. Instead I get roast, burnt bread, wood smoke, chocolate liquor, vanilla. Not bad, I wish the taste was a little more...solid, but I'll take it.
M- More syrupy than I like my bocks. Like the look, this would work for a stout so maybe I'm ok with it.
D- I think the intense chocolate on the nose would get tiresome a few of these, but the taste is good enough to warrant drinking one more bottle.
