I don't often review beers. I figure the rest of you get enough reviews in the database that i typically don't have anything to say that hasn't already been said.
But i felt compelled to write this review because i was so disappointed with SA Hefe. Call me crazy, but when i crack open a bottle blatantly labeled "Hefeweizen," i expect the beer to taste and smell like a Hefeweizen. Imagine my shock when i took i sip and realized that what i was drinking was not, in fact, a Hefeweizen, but an American Wheat.
As an American Pale Wheat, i suppose it's fine. Definitely wheaty, light, and easy drinking. But i'm rating the smell and taste really low because this beer has no right to present itself as a Hefe. Call it "Samuel Adams American Pale Wheat," but sure as hell don't call it a Hefeweizen.
And i'm a much bigger fan of SA than most BAs, i'd reckon.
