The beer poured cloudy orange gold. The head was white and retreated quickly to the edges of the surface.
The aroma was yeast and wheat and a slight hop presence.
The flavor was just slightly sweet with the soft mouthfeel of wheat and yeast. The hop bitterness just balances the sweetness from malt and wheat and is actually well done.
The finish was just off dry and wheaty into the aftertaste with a wisp of hop bittering. The body was medium and well done.
12 ounce bottle. Best before Jun 2004. Not bad at all for an American Wheat Beer. To call it a hefeweizen is a bit of a misnomer, but for the category where it resides at BA, I scored it accordingly.
