Poured a really light gold for a hefe from a 12oz bottle in to a pint glass. Um, it doesn't really smell like a hefe. it smells a bit sour, citrus tones. it doesn't have that banana/clove taste to it like all my favorite hefe's. the taste is not bad, but im confused... this is an American wheat ale, but it says hefeweizen on the bottle. mouth feel is nice very light on the tongue. i could see drinking this when it is really hot outside. drinkability is nice and light. nice lacing also. I'm not too crazy about this beer. it's also not very cloudy for a hefe and it says in big bold letters on the bottle "UNFILTERED" strange brew. on another note...Sam Adams is really starting to annoy me. it's like every beer is really citrus tasting. i know they add lemon zest and stuff to a ton of their beers. i mean, give it a rest. maybe the white ale is the the right one to add actual zest or what ever...but, most of their beers are sour citrus tasting and i hate it.
